lawrence of arabia, i think is one of the best war efforts ever made. very good film. one of the films with the most extras in it too. pushed o'toole into the big time as well.

as for zulu, one of the problems watching these kinda films, as well as zulu dawn, is watching them with a south-african wife, who then sits there and tells you of all the factual errors...eesh, just enjoy the film already

hard to pick a top 5 fave films really. all depends on the mood etc.

but as close as i could prb get it would be something like:

5. lost in translation
4. the longest day
3. stalag 17
2. bullitt
1. le mans

well it will have to be a top 7. also "once upon a time in the west" and "modesty blaise" and i cant choose where to put them and take 2 out, so a top 7 or sorts it is

My Top 5 Movies in no particular order:
1. Raiders of the Lost Ark
2. Seven Samurai
3. Midnight Run
4. Empire Strikes Back
5. Grosse Point Blank

These are movies that I will watch time and time again.
Really a lot of fun when you have to travel a lot for work.

Yeah it's a great movie.
Charles Grodin and Robert De Niro really play well off each other.
The supporting cast was well casted too.

Midnight Run is a fave of mine too.

Going thru this exercise I really am amazed as to how many "classic" movies there are... in the last 2 posts... Weird Science, Fast Times, Better off Dead (awesome soundtrack), and Gross Pointe Blank... wow.... Great Stuff.... yeah yeah Raiders of the Lost Ark, but that is a given.

Matrix (Tons of movies since employ these techniques)
Blair Witch Project (Low Budget shacky hand held video)
Seven (complex and sick on so many levels)
Saving Private Ryan (every war movie since)
District 9 (completely opposite of every alien movie)
Curious Case of Benjamin Button (ummmmmm)
The Royal Tanenbaums (there is something very very weird about this one)
Clockwork Orange (ditto)

I am sure there are more that are escaping me.
