That reminds me. There was a BBC series called Robin of Sherwood in the mid-80s. Very Sword & Sorcery like, as it kept the 'old ways' still in the story. A pity they didn't get a better budget to be more polished, and to make the fourth season.

yes that was one of my favorite series at the time.

i actually wrote a letter to ITV (the tv company showing the series) when they cancelled it, telling them how stupid they were

the michael praed episodes were a lot better than the jason connery ones i thought. though some of the stuff in the latter series i also liked. was well worth a watch.

and yes, petes dragon

though that is also animated to a degree too, which was why i didnt mention it - also remember going the cinema to see that too!

Monty's Book Swap in Independence, Missouri, is going out of business. It closes on December 17. Or maybe that is the day it is closed forever.

Until then the RPG stuff is 75% off. If you like metal miniatures, then you might find something worthwhile. Apart from the minis, the RPG part of the store still has 15mm and 25mm scenery, some 2E boxed sets, some 4E books . . .

Yes it does, since it appears that nothing quite like the S&S films of the '80s existed in the '70s. Zardoz may come closest, but all fit into sub-genres of something else:

Regressive Societies in a Sci-fi Setting - Zardoz, Planet of the Apes series
Sword & Sandal - Harryhausen's stop-motion films belong to an earlier generation, always adapted from real-world legend.
Animation - Bakshi, Rankin/Bass
Satire - Monty Python

Instead of finding S&S films in the '70s, I'm coming across similarities to horror of the era. Specifically the occult-focused stuff with guys in hoods. Land of the Minotaur ends a lot like Conan the Barbarian does.

So when is the next big time to sell, should I want to post something on Ebay...?

I'm assuming I missed the last window, say by at least a couple of weeks?

IMO, the next big sales window is mid-February aiming for the March pay packet. People tend to pull their horns in in January, either for the sales, or following Xmas. It all depends of what you're selling and who your target buyer is.

If you're selling a PovQ 1st with autographs, you can pretty much list anytime. If you want to get the best price for an OCE, you want to list when most people will be feeling flush. It can be a turkey shoot at any time. I tend to play the odds.

January is a dead zone. Great for buyer. Lousy for seller.
