So, because I bought the books right away, I got less than if I'd waited.

Nice knock on the head for a loyal customer.

I have to agree with their decision, however....the addition of a module would increase the value to where these books...might...just...possibly...be worth a dollar.

This happens all the time... when a product doesn't sell well it often gets repackaged with a P.O.P. item or a pack-in.

The more I think about it the more I realize I might have gotten the WSG/WT combo at Harts Five and Dime in New Milford, CT.

Both came with a cheap cardstock cover which show up very rarely becasue they looked like a cheap packaging cover. The HCs have their upcs crossed off also.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

That is exactly what happened. I did not even know the add-ons were added until many years later. So much for running to the hobby store to buy them...

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

I never saw them at the Hobby shops... and this was when I was buying a lot of new stuff. I only ever saw them at Bookstores and department stores.

Agreed. I am pretty sure I bought mine at Gen Con but I could be wrong; could have been another convention. By the time these books came out I was mostly buying at conventions and only rarely at an actual hobby shop.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

The content of the booklets is decent, IIRC. I haven't re-read mine in a long time, but it is in the same format/mindset as the Book of Lairs.
