It looks like someone may have made them custom C+P using the 1977/79 style sheets, a photocopier, and scissors

The font looks to be a near perfect match for the (Tom Wham artwork) sheets of the era, and someone good at scrapbooking could have easily made some half-sized sheets to carry in their OCE box :-)

(The misspelling of "encumbrence" helps to support this idea, as well)

That looks like a 1st print alpha version to me. The box appears to be in pretty good shape. Too bad about the rebinding on Men and Magic and the pages coming out of the other book. Overall, it looks like a pretty good set for a 1st print alpha.

Interesting. Those cards have some AD&D-isms, including "MAG. ATTK." (Magical Attack Adjustment), which is the Wisdom bonus from the Player's Handbook, and the saving throws are in the same order as in the Dungeon Master's Guide (rather than the OD&D order), which would suggest a date of 1979 or later. Many of the words are not found on the 1977/1979 sheets so I think a straight cut-and-paste would be difficult.

Just be observant.

The Outdoor Geomorphs look SWed at first glance but if you look closer and read carefully you will see they are not only not SWed they are cut up.

I have seen shrinked white boxes on a resellers stand at gencon.

They were definitely re-shrinked. You could see marks on the box under the shrink.

At first glance it does look like original SW....
Nice wear evidence along the top edge and the SW seam along the side as most of the older TSR SWed box sets that I have seen have.

But as I was looking at the lower right corner near the stock number; it looks suspiciously like the paper cover has a tear showing the brown box underneath with the Shrink Wrap on top of that.
If so, then it is obviously a reshrink.
But that could be some dirt, or a small hole in the SW.... with a small tear in the box top...
Certainly not enough to doubt the TSR experts testimony above...

In any case; at $600 plus that is (IMO) above the top end price even for a minty SWed 6th or 6th plus print.
