This was heavily penalized.  Also, a PSA for future sellers, please don't have big ticket items ending at 2am EDT, you just lose too much of your possible audience.

I have seen 3 of these Dragon Dice with the various colored dice and crayon now, all are stapled. If I had to guess from my experience owning a retail business where lots of items were in hanging packages, they had a production problem with the plastic probably trying to save a few pennies per package and stapled them for an easy fix (based on Mr. Blume's reputation of using the cheapest materials possible). It's also possible these were a very short run and possibly just a stop gap until the other set produced in 83 came out. The later set would be far cheaper to produce with the much simpler plastic casing just being glued to the backing. Lastly, it is also possible not all of these were stapled either.

Its been well over 2 years since I last recorded an X12 in SW.  I don't follow stuff like I used to, so just throwing it out there. Nice to see them still pop up once in awhile.

Did anyone ever get a sheet count on this?  I asked, about 14 hours before auction ended, but never got an answer.

After putting in a marker bid when I first noticed it when it first popped up, I did toss in a very conservative snipe at the end, but got out bid at the end. Without knowing how many sheets, I was just not willing to toss in a bid for more than the bare minimum.

Just curious if anyone asked and got an answer, so I can decide whether I should be kicking myself now or not, lol.

2. The small black leaflet about what is D&D: I have it as well from an UK basic set, it is by GW and it is pretty uncommon

That's cool! One of my original sets had those same color dice.

btw, would you be able to share photos of what the interior pages are to the little black leaflet? And did yours have those other single advertising sheets too?
