I can follow the link here to that item, but if I just use eBay search for the same thing it won't show up, nor do my saved searches pick it upEven when I follow the link to the item from here, sometimes the Place Bid button will just be missing

red_bus wrote in Interesting Items Currently on eBay:The advice you have been given is sound (I think). I live in London (greatest city in the world obv.) and use ebay.co.uk, but if I simply login to ebay.com I see that Paul has 323 items up for sale upon which I can bid. I know that sometimes the ebay algorithm is a bit flaky - but if I recall, this was always the case. So, no need for unhappiness, you can bid away! I may also bid on a few, but am as poor as a church mouse right now – which is a wholly different problem!
mbassoc2003 wrote in Interesting Items Currently on eBay:The problem is that I can see the auctions on .com, but I cannot login or bid on them with a .co.uk account. If I log in with a .co.uk account I cannot see the auctions to bid on them. .co.uk accounts are blocked from bidding on the auctions, it would appear. Are you able make to bid? Whether that's a blanket eBay wide decision, or a personal choice I have no idea, but given the history of these Trove auctions selling to the community worldwide, my money is it being an eBay obstruction, and I don't want to do the whole hunt for a US proxy bidder thing.
red_bus wrote in Interesting Items Currently on eBay:Just bid when you are logged on ebay.com.
