Another area that can occasionally elicit ridicule is the inability to communicate accurately or properly.  Consistent, poor use of the English language is usually an indicator of a weak intellect.  And while many of us are erudite, we certainly do not condone the use of fancy words in our confabulation when plain expression suffices as this leads to self-glorification and, in a word, elitism.  We never do that.

Yeesh, too many big words for me. I would have just said if your grammar sucks we'll tease you.
But that would elicit a disproportionate and demeaning retort.
