None that I recall: would probably make more business sense as a hidden auction - or semi-hidden, at least, depending on how complex any deal was - even if more fun in public.
Some day, maybe. :)

Commission some art of you lopping off the head of a massive dragon while some hot chain-mail-bikini-wearing elf(or dwarf if you are into that) is at your side in awe of your awesomeness.

or see if you can talk noble knight down on this http://www.nobleknight.com/ProductDetai ... GenreID_E_

Too bad it has to be just an RPG Product...

... I'd get a ticket into the World Series of Poker this summer, win 500-600K, then buy all the RPG items I could...   :D

But if you're not the avid card player, I'd want to get:

1) the Black PotVQ, or
2) a Brown Box

That would have to be some real good talking and I cannot see it working.
I have a really nice second print Woodie, and there is no way I would sell it for anything near 1K.

I cannot picture ever seeing a decent example of a First Print Wood Grain Box Set going for 1k...
Not even a nearly trashed out complete set, much less one that is in very fine condition.
NO WAY.
Heck I would sell almost every nice collectable item I own right now to get that one for Even 3K.....
With NO QUALMS either.

Arent the tickets for entry into the WSoP a lot higher than 1K?
I think that the Texas Hold Em tourney is 20k?

Hiya,

accident was remarkably boring (as these things go).

We were going to visit some firends who live in a village.

Was driving thru village, slowed down and indicated to turn right into their drive (remember we in the UK drive on the other side of the road to most other ppl), checked there was nothing coming the other way, and turned.

Then there was a big WOOMPH noise and the car shook sideways.

At first I thought I must have missed seeing a motorcyclist on the other side of the road or something, but no, the car BEHIND me had tried to overtake on the right.

Consequently crashing into the middle of my car :(

http://www.flickr.com/photos/malcolmlaw ... 543050092/

He even tried to deny it!

I called the police, who were helpful, and my poor car has been taken away today to be "assessed". Doesnt look good however :( If its just the doors it will be 50/50 whether or not I get it back, but if its the chassis as well then its a write-off. :(

On the plus side we were all OK, and if he had been driving something reasonably tough, instead of a Renault Clio, I wouldnt be typing this now, as he hit us doing about 30 mph.

To contribute to the thread tho, I got my fazzle for $700+

However, how a bout a trip to Gencon Indy instead? Good laugh and lots of gaming.

You'll always have the memories :)  Well, until you get senile anways :)

Cheers,
Malc

The "Main Event" fee is $10,000. There is a more expensive event [the HORSE event (Hold'em, Omaha, Razz, Stud)] that costs $50,000 to play.

Other than those 2, there are over 30 events ranging from $1,000 - $5,000. Hence, I only planned on winning 500-600k.   :D

That is one of the best ideas of them all.
With 1k spendable cash; I would do that without a doubt.
Even if nothing material came of the trip, the memories would last until your mind was gone, and whose to say your mind would not be there even then.....  forevermore?

(Glad no one was injured)

There are several things I would get. But, I would probably put it into a fund to get the really expensive things, like a 1st print OD&D set.

This happened because you drive on the wrong side of the road, Malc.

It's not Aaron's to do a deal on in the first place and I doubt Kynan would move much, anyhow.

Or hire some shady character with the $1,000 to go steal it for you. Just kidding, I am really just kidding.

Car not very well tho :(

Must have been your avatar's funbags.  Errr, your car's airbags.  :)

Side-impact and not injured.  You have a well-made car.  *thumbs up*

This may seem a bit of an unpopular or inadequate answer, but personally I wouldn't bother going after some rare just because it's overpriced and/or popular.  (Heck, I'd settle for the wife just going on the hunt with me for a day.)

Ask yourself if there's anything that you've been hoping for, if not for the cost.  If there's something -- by all means go for it.  If not, just because price is no longer a barrier doesn't mean you must buy something overly expensive.  Once you've considered what interests or would be valuable to you, and ask for that.

Oh, and an Tsojconth...because you can never have too many of them.
