White Plume Effing Mountain!  :)

(And for DMing, particularly to a new DM, it's hard to beat Hommlet)

I always enjoyed DMing and playing in City State.  Does that count?  Jesus, the weekends we blew rummaging around in that place.  Wonderful.   :D

I really like it, too. But I would say it is the best Gamma World Module by far.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Favourite played would be the GDQ series.  I still have a dislike for all things spider related from that.

Favourite to DM would have to be the U series (well the first 2 anyway, 3 felt more like repeating the same encounter over and over again and the water breathing thing always caused difficulty).  I'd have to say it was the way the setting of Saltmarsh felt...just out of the package it felt more alive than most of the others that I had read.  The looks on the faces of the players when they find out the house isn't haunted was priceless (I'd have gotten away with it to if it hadn't been for those meddling kids and their dog!).

Worst Played?  Ravenloft.  We died rather abruptly and it ended what felt like it could have been a great adventure (from hearing others tell it, we missed out by not trying again).

Worst DM'd?  B5 Horror on the Hill.  What horror?  I was unable to bring that one to life, pretty sure there wasn't anything wrong with the module, just a bad attack of the Dulls.  Like other failed attempts, it was quickly traded off for something else and never to be seen again.

Certainly not one to quote myself - but, yeah, there's a DM guide for dummies out there! The very few types of these books in my library seemed to pull the overview / summary stunt of the subject of interest and rarely gives a concrete or reliable path from point A to point B. Really, to make money off these types of books? Why not a website with free downloadable pdfs from altruistic authors? It's just a thought.

From sifting through keepers, potential sellers or trades recalls notable modules of Castle Amber, Curse of Xanathon, Master of the Desert Nomads - DM; Quagmire and A2 as a player

If there was a nickel for any practical concept not included in dummies or idiots books, the worth would fill several vaults  :!:

I'd have to say my favorite module as a player was B1, as run online by Badmike last year. It was my first AD&D game in over 20 years and a hell of a lot of fun.

Still waiting for Mike to pick up that campaign again...  :nudge: :nudge:

As a DM, my favorites are T1-4 (which I am running now!), Dragon Mountain (got to love those kobolds), and Ravenloft I and II: The House on Gryphon Hill. While many people hated I10 because of the helter-skelter writing and plot, I found that if you ran Ravenloft and Ravenloft II together, as suggested, it was pretty amazing. Kept the players guessing constantly, and none could figure out which module was reality and which was the dream!
