It really seems that you need to get your story straight.  It seems to be changing by the minute.

I think the next step in the process is for you say that did talk to the seller and while you were talking they happened to mention that they didn't do this for a living, so you thought it was *ok* to do with them.

BTW, while you are trying to get your whole story straight this time, perhaps you can explain how, again coincidentally, the very same seller who had 2 other auctions up for D&D books at the same time, didn't see fit to also add BINs to those auctions at the same time, you just happened to luck into the big auction:

Not to get the topic back on track or anything, but yes, from what I can see, eBay is tanking badly. Maybe they can convince the government to extend a bailout.

Just to be clear, I don't think anyone really cares that you negotiate deals on ebay. At least I don't. If you can pull it off, more power to you. However, it is your stance about being fair to sellers that stands in direct opposition to this fact.



Noboby here should chastise you for negotiating a good deal. But being a little more "consistent" in your positions might be a good idea.



People make mistakes. I will be the first to say that I have had my problems on ebay, but I am going to be honest about them.



And please do not try and rationalize a negotiated price on that particular BIN. 44 items at $90 is $2 per item. The resale value of that particular lot is easily in the $400-500 range. I know I would get that much if I had it. So please don't give us the "worried" about condition story.



That is a solid pick up. If it would have showed up in the fun finds thread, you would have been applauded. Again, it is just the apparent contradictionary (new word!) nature of the entire thing that has boiled the water.

As others have mentioned already, DRAGON Magazines tend not to do well on eBay at the best of times, unless they're issue #50 or below.  (At least, this has been my experience.)

For example, I have the remnants of a large collection that I purchased in March 2008, and 95% of the remnants are DRAGON Magazines that aren't in the best of shape to begin with (loose, torn or missing covers, rusty staples, etc.).  I've culled what issues I need for my collection (mostly the later issues after I stopped subscribing), but the rest I'm essentially stuck with.

Sometimes what I do is bring them to a nearby book/RPG store and just give them to the owner (who's become a semi-friend) so he can try to unload them.

Do people here still have any use for DRAGONs like this, out of curiosity?

I'm in the same boat as you.  About 5 years ago I sold of my extra Dragon magazines to a local used bookstore (that gave me $1 each because they sell them for $3).  I brought in about 105 issues and was happy not to have that box around anymore.

About 4 years ago, I bought another collection of stuff and ended up with 2 boxes of Dragon magazines.  I have them listed on my website but usually only get about 1 person a year who wants them so they have been lingering around for a long time.  The local used book store still has a good supply on hand so isn't interested in these issues.

You were being quite civil, and I did not mean to imply otherwise, bbarsh.  I think perhaps I got your user name confused with bclarkie's.  Apologies for any offense/offence.

It's just that I created this thread in the hopes of people selling stuff online coming together and commiserating/exchanging ideas, not for it to be a place for finger-pointing, flaming and so on.  (I wonder sometimes if whoever invented the Internet feels this way?   )
