well midday heat will be 45-50C so easily hot enough to cook something i would have though, especially in the dunes where it tends to be hotter. but then saying that, that kinda food is likely to dehydrate you more as well, so you will drink more (which you have to control and be careful with). sorry mike, no goodies for a week :)

The hazards of reading a thread without first checking the title: my first reaction was to think how excessive the list of available character races has become if it's already to number 530, imagining something like-

Race Number 524, Dragonborn Accountants
Race Number 526, Githyanki Fishwives
Race Number 527, Kender/Bugbear Half-breeds
Race Number 528, Spawn of Pikachu
Race Number 529, Ironhoof Highwaymen
Race Number 530, Masochistic Marathoners

yup iron rations it is :)

the tubes are "nuun tablets"

www.nuun.com

they are tablets you put in your water to replace electrolytes in your body (which you lose when you sweat), so these are good for mike etc when you take a walk to the front door of your house

nah seriously you really need stuff like that or you are stuffed.

you get given salt tablets on the admin day.

but yes, thats what i will survive on for a week - will prb lose about a stone in weight too (14lbs for you americanos).

Is the Bacon in the tubes?  Seriously? Christ man, you're killing me here!

I dedicate my next Bacon Cheesburger (which should be Wed, the day you start) to your race Al.  And when I hook up with Jason in San Antone we'll drink a beer to salute you, as I chow down on yet another pound of cow meat in your honor...

I mean, I really should eat one every day to show solidarity with you, but I have to pace myself for those breakfasts in Indy this summer...

Good Luck man..we are all thinking of you!

Alan,

I hope you realize that your "once yearly diet plan" would probably kill 80% of the folks on this board, myself included.

Badmike,

I'm trying to find the "best bacon cheeseburger" in Indy.  Something to look forward to in August.  That goes for the rest of you "foreigners" who will be visiting.

I can just see it.

I go to leave the country and I'm over the excess baggage limit, Not due to my suitcases, but because of the extra 30lbs I've put on in a week    8O

You're saying I can't have a Bacon Cheesburger Wed? Or that I should go ahead and have one anyway? And then have one every day leading up to the race? Is that it?  Good idea, man!

Not true.....you shoulda seen the size of the omelette Al had the first day.  I must have been made with 10 extra-large eggs....I shit you not.  You may be a skinny fecker Al, but I wouldnt be surprised if you had higher cholesterol than I do.  :P

Seriously though....you gotta try the biscuits and gravy at least once.  You know if I were in the U.K. I would give black pudding a try.  Forget haggis though....I wouldnt eat that if I were starving to death.
