Not as disappointing as the Troll and Toad prices in their store, though.  I will give them they ran a decent auction (except for losing Al's WGR4 in SW and almost losing his Beholders), but really guys, did anyone buy some of that way overpriced collectible stuff at T&T?  It was a bit over the top.  Meanwhile, across the room at Crazy Egor's he was absolutely raking in the cash all weekend, and his prices weren't necessarily great, but they just had to be cheaper than T&Ts...and Egor had a few treasures hidden away at that.

yeah i was really pissed about that and if they lost the Beholders, you would have heard me about a half mile away.

just another thing about the auctions too, that T&T bloke who was sat at the front on friday with his laptop bidding on a shed-load of stuff, i thought was very bad form - not only that, but he was extremely abrupt and not that friendly. for me, one of the few downward moments of the auction. i didnt think it was right that T&T ppl should have been bidding as they were managing it. bad form.

and then there was that curly haired guy in the red t-shirt - man what was HE doing running auctions??!!! i could have done better. sheesh what a dork.

good job frank M was on at the same time or you would have had a mass exodus happening there.

anyway it all came good in the end eh

ah no.... this guy was on earlier on in the RPG auctions....

the rares was Tim and Frank. only way it should be done imo. if it wasnt them doing the rares, it just wouldnt be the same.

the T&T guy was defo a toadie. can ask the rest of the guys, they all commented the same.

at the time he was bidding on dragon magazines.

well i said the same thing at the time, but anyway, he didnt bid on any of the rare stuff so that was ok. not that he would have had a chance of getting any of it anyhow.

there were some pretty damn determined acaeum guys there lemme tell you

you should have seen Johns face bidding on the Chainmail....man nobody was going to get that except him.

and jeff on the two daystars lol.....totally unflinching going past $1000. you could see everyone looking around going "OH MY GOD!" but he sat there with this slight smile and the "just give it to me now, you know its already mine" look.



and when they were auctioning the beholders...man i nearly fell off my chair trying to quickly zip up my bag and find my bidding card!

couldnt honestly tell you - think Frank M is the man to ask there. I think some did and some didnt, but most prb didnt - cant say i went round looking really, was far too busy looking for stuff before the other Acaeum guys saw em

ps. actually thinking about it, i dont think the trade booths were back to back as such. they all had their own little "detached" area kind of....

and maybe the ones that didnt, DID have some form of backing etc...know what i mean?
