That picture is fantastic ....

I just realised it is the whole wizards.com domain which is down.  At first I thought it was just the promo link.

http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazine/ ... 672645.cfm has a bit more info.

Apparently tieflings are going to become a race in the core books at the expense of one of the current ones.

Well...have to buy new books I guess....which is the point, isn't it?

The only thing I am concerned about is that the new game will be too miniatures oriented.  I have no intention of buying miniatures...at the moment.

Hey!  Maybe that means that some stores will now dump off their Dungeon Crawl Classics and cool stuff like that!  Gotta love that!

Gleemax.com is spearheading the company's conquest of the Internet,

Microsoft tried it and failed ..... Great looking site .... NOT!

at Gen Con, Wizards announced the Fourth Edition of Dungeons & Dragons.

... by shutting down their web site  8O

So does this mean my 1st level Super Wizard, who is able to shit lightning bolts, will now never run out of spells in battle ....?  8O

So the focus is still on using strength/power to get what you want rather than brains/strategy ....

Actually, that looks pretty cool.

Now maybe PC's will have a reason to be afraid of them..

I hate to say this...but the virtual gaming table looks INCREDIBLE (don't jump on me all at once!)

A virtual table, where the DM can draw maps, place virtual miniatures, and even post pictures of what players "see?"

Color me impressed...although I would probably want to use this feature with 1E or 2E.....hmmm...

(Ok...now be nice! I just said the VIRTUAL GAMING TABLE looked good, not 4E as a whole...)

And if you have some spare time on your hands you can make an origami version:

Truly, beauty is in the eye .............. (yes I know - the old ones are the best though!)

Improvstone, these links were still working earlier tonight - if you catch the two YouTube videos on the right hand side, there's 16 minutes of info about D&D 4E.

To me, the only thing that looks worthwhile is the "virtual gaming table," but then again, it's too early to tell - but I'm still not optimistic.

Thanks CSH. I saw them once the Wizards site came back online...  8O

How embarrasing.  Your entire site dies at Gen Con when you are in the middle of a launch and the Insider site is still not up..

If I did that to my clients they would have every right to kill me <improv quickly checks to see if the Piper site is still up - yup all is OK, Rob can relax now >

It will be interesting to see if it can be customised to suit 1e games.   Hopefully they haven't built it too heavy.  Otherwise play time will crawl. Especially for those who still don;t have fast connections.
