Hey Foul any thought to going through members and clearing out "0" posters who haven't logged on in, say, 7 years or so? Just curious.

It's really astonishing how stable and entertaining this forum has been over the years.
Kudos on all your hard work!
I like this upgrade a lot; the scheme, colors, layout, font, etc, are pleasing to the eye.

I know this makes me seem like a prude, but I'd really like it if this wasn't another forum with the bouncing boobs avatars.

I'd love to be able to leave avatars on, it makes it easier to see who is posting what, but I have a family and I refuse to have that up with my kids or wife wander by, which they do all the time.

So, my request is that we all agree not to have lewd avatars. Yes, it's my problem, that I'm pushing on to others, and my solution will certainly be to shut off avatars, but I'd rather I didn't have to take that step.

That's not what should happen. It should take you to the first post in the thread since your last visit. So you can continue reading from where you left off. If that's not what's happening, then something is wrong.

I see. So, if you mark all as read, it will then assume your last one was the then-current final post and return to it at the next read. Guess I'll just not use that button, which is a shame as its my favorite.

Not sure what you're complaining about -- if the thread is orange, clicking it will bring you to the first unread post. If it's blue, there's no unreads, and clicking it will bring you to the first post.

If for some reason you want to go directly to the first or last page, you can do that from the pagination squares to the right of the topic (for multi-page topics).

I considered it, but there's no benefit. I actually cleared out about a hundred users a few years ago -- ones who had no posts, and who hadn't visited in a number of years. I almost immediately got an e-mail from someone who attempted to login with their long-dormant account, and couldn't. Sigh.

What I can say is that there's no bots or spam posters in the memberlist (other than the ten or so who've registered since yesterday... and yes, I'm working on it).

I have no idea! And since I don't own an internet-capable phone (yeah, I know), I can't try this out myself. Anyone who does so, please report your experience.

The easiest solution may be to use the "Foes" feature in your UCP. You won't see any of the posts from those you designate a "Foe". A bit extreme, but it's there if you wish to use it.

I think I'm having trouble getting my head around this one as well, though.

Yeah, possibly, but i'd rather see the content of the posts. I only finally added an avatar for myself after 8? 9? years on here, I can deal with no avatars, if need be.

Hmmm! That's completely broken! I will need to take it in to the shop and see what's going on there.

Incidentally, from reading forum posts on phpbb.com, the "View New Posts" link is completely broken (not sure why they've left it in...), so I'll be taking it out. The "View Unread Posts" is what you really want, and I'll see if I can fix it.

I think that's what I want, but was easy to get confused with those similar links, neither fully working! Thanks in advance & good luck.

Clicking the latest date-time on the forum links on the front page of the fora does indeed jump to the latest post, so the logic is in there somewhere...
