What does a VF copy of this look like? I am guessing there are not a lot of NM copies around. (this copy is tatty and has highlighting but I only seem to see ones in worse condition coming up).

Seems like a good price for batter than usual condition, IMO. I do like this particular digest size book.

Frank... You don't happen to have a box of these sitting in your garage or attic do you? Would live a minty copy with your signature on it.

Don't recall ever seeing a print run estimate for Chainmail specifically, but there was a reference to the print runs being a few thousand, at most, for the Guidon Games products:

Guidon Games - Wikipedia

I would suspect that the 1st print run was between 500 to 2,000 copies, with 1,000 being the highest probability.  This is an educated guess, based on a typical print run for similar niche hobbyist publications, and similar TSR products from this time.

Perhaps Jon Peterson, or another expert with early information on Guidon Games, can chime in.
