I haven't had a problem shipping anywhere (and I ship everywhere) but maybe it is the "friendly Canadian" reputation that keeps them safe.  In my mind, I'm at a point where if I lose one or two, no worries I figure I'm due.

I ship everywhere too and, although I have had a couple of losses over the years, I reckon things just don't always go perfectly. ... besides the +ve international experiences outweigh the -ve massively

why did TOT cease to be updated with new information? or maybe it is still updated and I just didn't see it

There were a few members driving ToT before it became public but people change focus and real life throws new challenges.  From a technical perspective, the forums were intended only as a temporary solution to allow users to add content.  The data should then be moved into a database, and webpages generated from there,etc.  Unfortunately, the forum software became outdated, requiring a new version to be installed rather than simple updates and being outdated meant there are lots of known exploits that allow bots to spam every forum.  The few hundred registrations were all bots on one day - to remove them and theirs posts you have to do so one at a time manually.  So I ended up shutting turning off the forum registration/posting privileges.  For me, lots of real life stuff over the past few years so I haven't had a chance to dedicate the time needed to get everything where it needs to be but hopefully one day ...
