This was posted in the Classifieds. Not sure this is in the shrink. Many of the items look like they are in magazine bags. The seller might think this means they are new. I have had sellers in the past state something as new/sealed only to get the item and find out it was "sealed" in a magazine bag.  :x

I would ask questions before bidding.

Available now from Die Cast Games: Night of the Black Swords by Allen Hammack (Author of C2-The Ghost Tower of Inverness) with artwork by Jeff Easley and Diesel.

Glad you posted it. I was about to. If you look REAL close, you can see waves in plastic running in two different directions. That's the only way I would think it was in shrink. If you look at the rest of his auctions, most are NOT obviously in shrink, while a very few you can see the shrink on it. I agree about asking questions TBH. I've never seen an AC5 in the shrink at auction before, so, it will be interesting to see where it goes.

We have 3 copies of AC5 in our collection 1 in shrink and 2 opened copies. Does anyone know how many pages are in a complete copy?

ToT has it listed as 16 double-sided sheets, 32 pages in total.    Tome of Treasures - D&D

This is the only reference I've found to the page count of that little gem.

I asked the seller about the AC5 - he said it is not in shrink as he got it mail order?

Amazing how rare that supplement (AC5) is.  I have never seen/held one, but aren't the character sheets supposed to be identical to the ones that were in another supplement?  Are they different in any way?

What truely is the value of an AC5? [birds take off in flight; a horse runs] Is it something we can put a price on, or is it beyond measure? [couple walks down beach under setting sun] The collector who invests in one has proven to the world that he has arrived, that he is now a man of distinction. [man in tuxedo adjusts bow tie] What is it that sets the AC5 owner apart from the herd? Is it the way the young collectors go silent when he enters a room, or how the lady collectors gasp just a little? [young woman's eyes widen before she looks away demurely but hopefully; her lips part slightly]  Who can say? It is all part of the enduring mystery that comes with AC5 ownership. This looks cool.  Any guesses as to how high it will go. The first print MM can be a little pricey and with the signing. I'm betting up to 300-400$.

Agree that a NICE copy of the 1st print Monster Manual can get pricey.
Problem is that copy is not even close to nice; No picture of the rear cover, or edges (spine, front and top/bottom)  and the one picture of the front cover does not show the edges clearly.
Even so, the front cover is clearly very dirty/soiled, and beat up with numerous nicks and deep scratches and shows heavy wear at/near the edges and corners with fraying at both bottom corners.

As for the other picture, the page shown exhibits dirt from heavy use along the outside edge, and yellowing along all the edges (not uncommon).
At best that book is in good condition, which for me makes it non-collectable grade except as a place holder until a collector can get a nice copy to replace it.

The book alone is not worth the starting price and I have copies of the 1st print MM which I paid less for in better condition.
In other words, the autograph really is the only selling point for his starting price.
I am fairly certain that the Gygax autograph with note will boost the price beyond that starting price of $200, which (IMO) is twice the collectable value for that book without the autograph.
I would not bid even $200 for that book; and I think the starting price is too aggressive, though I am sure some folks will bid and it will probably sell for over $300.

Mine -- which appears not to have any pages torn out -- has 16 perforated sheets. AC6 has 24, which makes me very slightly suspicious of my AC5, but the paper used for AC5 feels slightly thicker, and 16 is also a multiple of eight, so only slightly suspicious. How many pages does your shrinked one have?

The box looks beat to hell and I don't know what to make of the price, but it looked interesting to me.

For $600 USD, I would expect better finish on the back where all the ports are ;-) Decent idea though

It is the Italian Printing, but NM in the original Shrink Wrapped nonetheless.
At $19.95 it is an excellent BIN, and I almost did an automatic HIT THE BIN before I realized it was the Italian Printing.
But even with the overpriced $10 domestic shipping, still a very nice deal for the Shrink-O-Philic Completist Collector.

Same seller has a bunch of other SHed foreign printings of Modules and also some boxed sets.
