This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

It's rare to see one of these that's not in NM condition or in SW:

B3 - Palace of the Silver Princess, Recalled Orange Cover, TSR 1981  | eBay

This was from Steve Marsh's collection. It was originally sold back in 2005 by The Collector's Trove.

If this is wild, how would you define these?

...are they a "total copyright and syntax infringement"?

If I were in the market for one, I'd be on this for sure. While I do fancy some items in shrink, this to me, has always seemed like the biggest waste to keep in shrink.....the content MUST be appreciated in person!

A few years ago (okay maybe 10) there were about a dozen of these available at the auction for $10 each. Since I don't buy doubles I didn't buy any of them. I also didn't think anyone would ever list this product for $600+. That seems ambitious, but it only takes one. I wonder if there is any negative fallout to asking an outrageous price for a BIN item? Will people stay away if they feel they are being price gouged? I felt that way about Jason Zavoda buying an item for $10 and then trying to sell it for $600. Especially since the box that he was trying to sell was flattened like a pancake. Eventually his price came down to $300. I don't know if he ever did sell it.

That was a great price indeed!  I missed out on this item when it could be found for a price like that.  It was one of those items that wasn't at the top of the collecting list.

The typical sale price for these for the last three years was around $350, so that price is indeed ambitious, but as Sir Kill Alot mentioned, there haven't been a lot for sale.  There appears to have only been one listed since early 2021.  It wasn't in the best condition and it sold for a best offer price of $525 in August of 2023.

Is suspect that anyone that is selling these nowadays will make a tidy profit, especially if they bought those ones about 10 years ago.

It was apparently priced attractively enough, as it sold for $300.

This is one of the nicest sets that I've seen for sale recently, but the seller might be a bit too optimistic with that price.

That's the flimsiest hardcover books I've seen.

But maybe there is an angle here to separate some of the POD resellers - 9.8 new in shrink.
