Not a good copy of this, but I'm posting it for observation purposes.

Has anyone else noticed a significant increase in the number of UK items that are being listed on eBay?  It seems like there has been a rather significant increase in the softcover Players Handbook and Monster Manual books, and even in the UK-specific modules.

Not sure what timeframe you're looking at, but over the past couple years I actually noticed a decrease in the number of UK tsr items on eBay. Especially good quality ones.

Many are fixed prices, and yes, the typical condition is not good, which goes with the territory for the UK softcover books.

I managed to grab a few in good conditions in 2021 but no such thing now... it seems they are all in great, greedy and/or gregory hands now

I think there are several sets of poor copies being listed and re-listed at high prices (for condition). I haven’t checked but that is my perception from observing the market.

Thanks. This reminds me to ask: any reason why Warriors of Mars isn't listed in the Acaeum rares? I would think the early legal troubles aren't the reason since other items are listed that faced those, such as Deities & Demigods (under Rulebooks not rares, but same idea).

It would be good to recognize the status of that item, and get some pricing guidance.

Price aside, you can almost envision that the original owner of these items really had some good memories gaming.

We've had mishmash sets come up in the past.  Here's a thread on it:

UK Basic Set Mystery & Theory

Even though the seller states that it's a rare Frankenstein set, "officially" made prior to the UK black box being ready for retail, I would be a bit skeptical of that.  I'd be more inclined to think it's an incomplete Frankenstein.  If there was more evidence that this occurred, then maybe this set could be verified as legitimate.  I don't know if this set could be qualified as being a printing, though.

From the items present:

Box:
3rd print US top & bottom (bottom might be from an earlier printing)

Contents:
3rd UK print boxed set for the UK print B1 In Search of the Unknown and F116-R Rulebook
1st US print boxed set for the Monster & Treasure Assortment

Missing:
UK contents:
Five pre-colored dice in a small poly bag (no D10 or dice crayon)
or
US contents:
Dungeon Geomorphs Set One (Second print, no shrinkwrap)
48-page rulebook:  Lizard logo, with "2001" in upper right
Monster & Treasure Assortment Set One (Second print, no shrinkwrap)
Five pre-colored dice in a small poly bag (no D10 or dice crayon)

If the seller could answer some questions pertaining to the sets, that would help.

1. Where were these purchased, US or UK?
2. Were either, or both, of them purchased new?
3. Were they purchased from the same seller?
4. Are the contents identical between the two sets?

If these were officially cobbled together, they could be worth more than the seller is asking, even missing the dice.  Determining if these were assembled by TSR or Games Workshop vs. someone else is difficult, though, as someone could easily do the same thing with spare parts.  Regardless, the starting price isn't unreasonable, considering the current contents.
