Wow indeed.
I put a bid in as a marker BUT full disclosure, I dropped the seller a line as well.
It would be nice to see one of these go up for auction properly and see where the madness ends!!

Looking for suggestions on adventures that offer many locals to visit (do not care what rule set/level as I'll convert if needed). Running my wife and kids in the 5e starter set at the moment as their first go thru (since the kids started in a D&D club at school) and might do the essential kit to keep them in the familiar area. They seem to enjoy various clues/rumors to investigate.

Storm Kings Thunder covers lots of locales in the Sword Coast (where the starter set is based) and makes for a good transition from the starter set.

Hate to sound like a broken record.....tegel manor is perfect for this sitiation. What better than investigating goings-on in a haunted house?

Let me know how it goes.

I just ran a little adventure for my wife and sister in law. They had never played an RPG before. So i ran a scenario in the renaissance deluxe setting (a little like cthulhu). Its 1748 and they are travelling by stagecoach to london to collect an inheritance. Coach driver feels its too dangerous out on the road, so detours to a small village in a big forest....in clicks a sleepy hollow style situation.

Was a blast and they had great fun, especially when they were woken from a sound sleep by someone trying to pick the lock to their door! That was their first combat....for 2 people who are quite empathic to others, they were damn bloodthirsty....was hilarious.
Had a nice episode in a graveyard. They had to find a fox who was killing the hens and of course the "ghosts"...who were actually cultists trying to kidnap the villagers.

All good fun!
Hope they enjoy what you concoct for them!

And of course, one already made too...sinister secrets of saltmarsh is always a great scenario

Hey guys
I was sorting out some boxes earlier and found some magazines from 1976, called games and puzzles. Fun read for those who like the traditional board games like chess and card type games etc. Funny story, my mum didnt like me playing D&D "youre far too young and i dont like the subject matter" so she bought me these magazines. I have issues 49 to 60. Now funny...they DO have an odd D&D article or aimilar and she didnt know! Har har...anyway issue 48 (the one before when i got them) had a big intro to dungeons and dragons. The newsagent didnt have it at the time and time later, i just forgot to follow up...meh

Anyway heres some pics of what was in the ones i have...good fun from not seeing them for 40 odd years

Funny looking at some of the adverts from 1976. Considering the magazine was 40p then, which wasnt cheap.
Empire of the Petal Throne was almost £17.00, which back then was a small fortune to most kids!!!

There's now a D&D Broadway play showing in New York!  It's called the Dungeons & Dragons The Twenty-Sided Tavern, and is an interactive adventure where audience members participate.  It apparently uses 5th Edition rules.  :(

This is a detail i missed: TSR made a Silver anniversary boxed set larger than the 'standard size' (and by standard i mean the size of moldvay/cook/mentzer boxes) and put in it the standard size boxed set... really??? That is a D&D Matrioska set! I never realized there was such a product! Look at the pic in this auction:
