Here's a curio.
If we knew the approximate date, and the share (even?) held by Jim, we may be able work out the commercial value TSR placed on that paricular the product at that time. Allowing for the obvious negotiational biases.
I just thought it an interesting window into TSR.

To put this into perspective, the $6K is roughly equivolent to my entire years salary on the first year of my first job in 1986.
Does this represent 5 years of royalties for Gods, Demi-gods & Heroes at that time? 10 years worth?
I wonder what revenue was actually generated by products in the business in those days (now that such information would not be commercially sensetive.)
Alas, I doubt the detailed account exist. Destroyed years ago no doubt.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

$6k (1980 is when book was published) in today’s dollars is about $21,500.  A little perspective, The price of new car in 1980 was around $7k and a house $47k.

It never occurred to me that Jim may have relinquished his royalties upfront in exchange for a cheque.
I had assumed he had surrender them at some point after publication and already received royalties on the work.
But makes sence either way, and in 1980 that would have been a fine sum for surrendering one's rights in a fledgling and uncertain niche market, that for all anyone knew was gonna be a short lived thing.

Someone should complain that it has a piece missing, & is therefore in non-collectible condition.

I haven’t been paying too much attention to the RPGA modules. Is this the going rate for them or just an outlier?

A near perfect example of depreciating currency being moved into hard assets to protect the owner’s wealth from accelerating losses. This is exactly what those with excess wealth held in fiat currencies (or fiat denominated assets) should be doing with their wealth.

There are only a finite quantity of real goods, whereas there is an infinite quantity of currency units chasing them. It will only accelerate IMO.
