Thank Tszii. I have a question:
There is a 9.4 - DL2 in SW on the HA site.

It has 600 written on the shrink in pen. Because it is on the shrink and not the book itself, there is no real penalty?

Hi! This is well beyond my knowledge. I am still not sure about grading in shrink myself. The module is the only important thing to me anyway, unless it has a cool tag.

Phil-

What if a module is in great shape... but has rusty staples and slight bleed? Curious as to what the deduction would be? Lets assume it was a 9.0 would it drop to an 8.0?

Please LMK so I can guage a few.

Different grading companies will treat something like writing on the product in their own unique way. To me, unless it could be removed with some alcohol, I wouldn't buy the piece even if it graded a 9.8. Same thing for price stickers, it may not affect the grade but I wouldn't want said example in my collection. Its just a preference for display reasons. In the world of action figure grading I don't think price stickers affect the grade but many higher end collectors won't buy them. Same goes for yellow bubbles (designated with a Y grade) or figures where the hang tab is punched. Neither affect the primary grade and different people have different preferences. I imagine the shrink vs no shrink is similar here.

Of course there is. That is why it has a seal rating of an A and not an A+ or A++. Small corner pokes and the writing dropped it to the A as stated in the defects.

Once the auction goes live, you can track it. If you type TSR in the search instead of Dungeons and Dragons, you will also see Star Frontiers, Boot Hill, Marvel Super Heroes, Indiana Jones, etc. Also, we did do Ghostbusters RPG. I thought this was going to be auctioned in August, but they're showing 7/18 for auction bidding. I'm curious as to what these will sell for myself.

I covered this earlier in the thread. It depends on the severity of the rusty staples along with rust stains on both the interior cover (or exterior if that bad) along with pages.

Writing is usually frowned upon. Stickers are actually pretty cool because of history and provenance. The video game guys have talked about this, not sure on social media, but definitely with us. Also, it legitimizes that the seal is real and not reshrinked. I love it when I see a Kay-Bee sticker on these. Two Guys was my goto vintage store back in the 1970s.

Also, was it you who sent in the 25 sealed items? If so, they were graded today and should be out by the end of the week. Would've been done much sooner but I was off last week for a mini vacation.

Thanks Phil.... No not me.... I just got back 16 and sent in another 6 or so... But I think I have some more in process... Getting a bunch more ready though maybe another 20 for my next batch... Have not had the heart to break into my sealed collection yet.

Well wait for the Heritage auctions and see how their sealed stuff sells. They do take consignments if you think you can get more with them. Though I think they get 20% of the sale price.

Have any graded I6's been sold yet? They are pretty difficult to find in this condition and what people want for an SW one (approx. $600) is very pricey.

Phil, is there a 'master' census where one could view the growth of graded D&D items? Instead of having to look at each individual census and tally them up? It would be really cool to see just how quickly this is 'catching on'.

You'd be surprised at what is out there. Based on the census, there are 3 8.0 copies and 3 copies higher than that. The census program is old. You cannot do a vast "master" search on all RPG graded items under one search. I wouldn't think it feasible as there may be other items included in that you wouldn't want. Plus once people keep sending in the same item, the numbers on the census grow. Some comics have I believe hit 30,000 copies graded like Spider-man #300. Doing searches like that would probably take forever. The one thing I did wish would show up is how many of those on the census are sealed. That's also something it can't do at this time. I'm sure since we're doing so much crossover (JSA sig) and now sealed stuff, they will be working on updating the census to show these things.

Can you guys do the 10th anniversary bonus packs? Also, any plans to branch out to other TSR products? I’d love to get my Star Frontiers stuff graded.

I assume no plans to cover boxed sets or the hard backs based on prior posts?

Still got at least 1 more year before I can pull my stuff out of storage :|

Both CBCS and CGC can grade any RPG material as long as it fits into the holder, this includes SF of course.
