His collection of ad&d stuff will likely go on eBay but seems to just be the ad&d books, nothing special. I thought I’d just let people know who knew him

All the best

I’m sorry for your loss.

Thank you for letting us know.  I'll certainly be praying for you and your family as you grieve.  We're so sorry for your loss.

We all have our demons.  Life is difficult.  I try to do the best I can in life, but sometimes that's not very good or pretty.

Take care. :(

Sorry to hear that. We used to mostly note the passing of the old-school authors, but these days it's as likely to be us, the kids who were the old-school players & who didn't worry about aging because dwarves are supposed to live to be 270.

p.s. Abe Vigoda wants me to tell you that he sends his condolences as well.

I'm sorry to hear about Dave's passing, and thank you for letting us know.  Dave was a member of the forum here since 2006, and will be missed.  He was also a member on Dragonsfoot, although he hadn't been active there since 2012:  dragonsfoot.org/forums/memberlist.php?m ... amp;u=6449.

If there's anything we can assist you or your family with, please let us know.

Allan.

Thank you all for the kind words.

I don’t know what to do with the books he had, but if I sell them here, it feels right. I know he was the original owner except for the monster manual paperback book, the others are all hardbacks.

I can try to put some photos on here soon I hope

No hurry.  Good things take time.

Yes, photos are extremely helpful in determining interest and value.  This community will be glad to advise you on whatever you want to do with his role-playing materials.

You have several obvious selling options available to you.  One is to offer them to this community and see if there are any offers.  Since the majority of members live in other countries, shipping can be a real issue in making their purchase worthwhile for most members.  Still, there are members who live relatively close and may even be able to pick them up avoiding any shipping costs.  It's not necessarily likely, but it could happen.  Another obvious option is to list them on eBay, or find a friend who will sell them on eBay for you.  Frankly, you'll likely get the most money for their sale this way.  Or maybe you'll want to try Facebook Marketplace or some other selling web-site.  Finally, if you want to donate them to a gaming group or this group, I'm not sure how that could work or what you would want, but there's probably some ways to make that happen.

You've just got to figure out what you want knowing that we are here to help as much as we can.  Grieving takes time, and over time you'll determine what helps you most.  Take care.   8)
