Who is this guy? Selling a collection? Check his other auctions

I think his BINs are kind of high right now...almost like last summer's prices.  Maybe if someone hits him up with best offers, he'll sell the manuals.

I think he's selling someone else's collection.  His description of the Chaosium boxed set as an adventure pack leads me to believe he's never actually read/used the product.  I could be wrong but it might be why his BIN prices are so inflated (although if someone wants to pay them, more power to him).

Kind of High?

This dude is smoking crack...

I could win the lottery and I'd still refuse to buy his overpriced items.

I think many of his prices exceed even last years top sales.
Perhaps not all of them, but most.

Especially the newer First Edition PHBs at $30 each or more.
Some of them are 6th and 7th prints?
You could buy those most weeks on E-Bay for around $10-15 in NM condition.
And that is only ONE example.

Did anyone ask him yet what the minimum bid offer he was looking for? I think it's a big gamble unless you're up there in Portland to get an inspection of the goods.

Actually I have thought about driving to Portland (from Boise) to inspect the lot.  Even if the seller would accept cash and not have to mess with shipping he would have to come down to about $5 per item (or lower) which is less than $4000.  I'm thinking that would be a no.  Just the shear volume of hard to sell duplicates and common SW items, not to mention the staple issue and incomplete sets, makes it hard to justify.

I'm thinking in the end the guy will break down the lot before he accepts a re-seller's offer.  That's kind of the reason I havn't invested much time into it.

But what kind of collector is gonna buy a lot like this? He has put together a lot that only a reseller would be interested in and priced it higher than he is ever gonna get.

Exactly.  He would have to knock $2-3K off his price to get any serious interest.

Seller iquisitor has a 1/3 TSR, 2/3 Guidon Tractics.  Is this playable (i.e., are the book contents the same between Guidon and TSR)?

Yes, it is playable in this setup.  Generally with the Tractics sets there are Errata sheets so it possible that the last GG print came with Errata and the first TSR print corrected them.  The GK cream coloured Tractics comes with errata as well so not everything was corrected.

This lot has been posted elsewhere and could have been in the JG forum with the interest in the FFC.

The FFC looks to have serious mold problems. If it does, then the mold smell (which means spores) goes along with it. When you have mold stained items that dont smell it usually means that the mold spores have died.

But you should never mix moldy items with non-moldy. And sadly the thing to do with moldy items is to toss them. There are a few ways to kill mold spores but they almost always damage the paper that is infested with them.

I would be very leery of this collection.

edit: I would be slightly less leery if he didnt place the FFC in the middle of other items and put the swords and spells on top of it.

That really is a collection to be avoided. I'd avoid the seller all together because the state of what they are selling is not mentioned at all in the description. Seems very obvious and likely an atempt to be dishonest by omition. This is a seller to be avoided.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.
