Keep in mind though that the original request for interest was directed at the entire community - not just those with the loudest voices or grayest hair.  The 50 slots went fast and that waiting list will be considerably longer by the time the prints are actually produced.  Why not encourage both equity and community by making this a lottery and a real Acaeum event.   As it stands, it seems kinda unfair that list was constructed and locked in before the details of the project are even known.  Surely this first list was intended to simply gauge interest.

Actually, this is not the first first come, first served type of event on this forum. I missed the most of them. No big deal. I nearly missed this one too. But that is how it goes. I think 50 is a fair number. I know it sounds hollow coming from one on the inside. But it is my opinion.

Jump on the waiting list - people WILL fall off that list when the cash has to be shelled out. Things happen.

Maybe next time a lottery can be held. But it would have to be done prior to people actually signing up.

On the flip side of that....as a person that isn't on the waiting list, I would have no problem with a lottery, simply because the list just constitutes a number of people that are interested....nothing more.

Can we just drop all comments about "The List" until discussions with Erol have come to a conclusion and all the facts are stated?

Of all the pieces that I have sold for Jim over the last year, this was the weakest so far. Is it the economy? The artwork? You guys tell me. The market for original art is not very strong right now. So, it may be some time before any more goes up. Jim's stuff is too good to go for peanuts!
