Thanks Ashmire. I'm not interested in this particular item (just pointing it out) however I do see others (mostly modules) in the $25-$30 US range for shipping which sadly is a non-starter for me.

With great respect to Jim. Does anyone think this holds significant collectible value? I suppose if the comments/notes are not found elsewhere its a unique treasure - even if a copy.

I'm torn, because greatly want to bid for that cute front page - but also recognise could be a bit of a black-hole purchase.

This is now being punted here on the classifieds, but again it’s not very clear about what the item is.

I’d question whether the seller could be placed on the shady sellers list as their copy of Dieties was also unclear

Shipping has gotten ridiculous. I'm selling off a huge run of Dragon mags and the shipping is probably going to cost me the same as a tiny house. Gotta pay for those killer USPS union worker benefits.....

Not really. I get the impression it's someone Jim knows and trusts, and other notable alumni have fashioned their own certificates of authenticity and done their own sales of collections over the years.

The thing here is that Jim seems to trust this muppet to monetise his collection, which is fine if your shifting packs of screws from your shed and things you used to wipe your arse with when you went camping. But when it comes down to things people are going to shell out a lot of money on, you need to employ someone with a brain and a certain amount of honesty and integrity, and the fact that Jim isn't even aware of what is being presented in his name says more about his values towards what he's selling, the buying community, and his own reputation than I'd care to delve into.

In old age that's fine. He's probably just screwing as much out of the remnants of his career as he can, which I see nothing wrong with. The guy must be pushing 70, and he was never exactly top tier back in the day. - Isn't he allegedly throwing his reputation behind Ernie Gygax and Justin LaNasa's train wreck?

And as to his chosen agent, I don't see anything morally wrong with fucking over buyers. If you haven't lied or defrauded anyone, and its purely obfuscation and omission, and they're stupid enough not to understand the world of buying and selling, then go for it. Fleece the idiots. This is how human beings learn. People who teach these lessons deserve to be paid what they were promised, and buyers who learn such lessons don't forget them.

Likewise, if somewhere there is a buyer or two in contact with the seller, and bidding with knowledge that may not being disclosed to others, more power to them. Lack of disclosure may be keeping the price lower than it might be. Maybe there is a complete manuscript here, maybe a couple of buyers have a handle on what is actually contained in the sale, and maybe the seller is not disclosing on purpose (or maybe he's just a bellend). Who knows?

Given that someone in amongst all of this has been in contact on the site (and even posted I believe), I just would have expected someone to have reached down into their trousers, took a hold of their balls, and either corrected their omission, corrected their lie, or been honest and transparent about what they were selling.
