DM about 75% of the time.

But there always seemed to be someone running a side game, so I had plenty of player time, too.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Almost always DM.  Very rarely get to be a player.
But I get more enjoyment out of DMing anyway.  So I guess it works out.

I got "stuck" DMing as I was the one with all the books and modules and the cool mom that let everybody stay at our place to game all night...

Probably 60% of the time I was DM... but there were games run that I played in...

I really would rather play... but most folks as ASS at DMing. So...

I was always a player and didn't start being the DM until I started getting my son involved in it.  Just wish he wanted to play more and have some of his buddies get involved.  Still play once a month (when we're lucky) with dbartman as the DM

Initially, I started out as a player. Of course, I ran games as well but only to give other people a chance to play, not because I truly wanted to.

But then, in the mid 90's, the way things were going for my area, my options were very limited. If I wanted to play, basically I had to run, 'cause no one else would or had the capability to do so. In addition, I discovered that the games other people ran were not entirely to my taste; so I looked at this as an opportunity to run a game that I would want to play in. It worked out pretty well, and from '96 to '08 I ran my campaign, with only a minimum of pauses in play.

So, basically from the mid 90's I have primarily been a GM/DM, playing occasionally.
