Yes, lots of people register to list items.  They usually figure out that their advertisement belongs in the "classifieds" section.  Having been a member/lurker for 2 years he should be able to figure it out too.

Maybe I was a bit blunt but he really sounds more like a troll to me.  After being told the post is in the wrong place his response is to take offense and try to justify it by pigeon holing the forum.  Then after it is explained that no the forum is not just a big sales website then he takes offense again - sounds more like a muppet to me.
