Hmmmm.  I was not terribly impressed with Lord of the Iron Fortress, so perhaps it's best that Andy stuck closely with Gary's original material (under Perkins' watchful eye, which is good, Greyhawk-wise).

Lord of the Iron Fortress - that's one of the most underwhelming d20 adventures I ever picked up.  And I picked up some pretty worthless d20 shite along the way.  Aweful, aweful, aweful.

I'm big in the RPGA and do a lot of stuff for them.  That being said, I made sure I got extras of this adventure that will remain wrapped and unopened  :D

Great review Xaxaxe...looking forward to getting mine!

I have no doubt he was handed the original and someone, maybe Perkins himself, told him not to "frack" up a classic with too many new ideas.  I don't mind that he didn't own the original, but if he had screwed with a good thing I sure as hell would have hoped beyond hope that Gary would have raised up from his final resting place and punched him square in the face...(god rest his soul and all that good stuff of course).

Mal

ps...Here's hoping WotC takes the same measure of respect when and if they remake other classics for 4E.  I know I know, what are the odds....an old fart can hope though can't he. =)

Okay, I can't help but ask, but what exactly is a "potato wedger"? - bclarkie

Xax, out of curiosity, does it mention T2?

Not that I've seen. But it does explicitly acknowledge T1-4 and even includes a couple of elements from that module (although, for the most, it's T1 that dominates the landscape).
