It's really sad what's happening, and I'm surprised it is taking so long to restore order.  It's also interesting the role social media and blackberrys are playing in these riots.  I'd be interested how Acaeum members from the area are interpreting this situation.  Are the looters/protestors expressing pent up anger, or are they just being opportunistic, both, or something else?

We rolled into Missoula, Montana today after a surprisingly easy road trip.  (Next time, I might try to make Billings on the first day.)

I did a bit of looting in Missoula bookstores, but I have not been able to locate a real game store.  Of course, we got into town pretty late in the day...having lost an hour with the time change.

We did roll past a real game store in Spokane, Washington.  The owner is running for city council.  Check out his store and his new campaign picture here:

We soaked up the spirit of the American West in Missoula:  We ate at the China Buffet, visited Goodwill and shopped for computer disks at Target.

The military museum at old Fort Missoula was still open and it turned out to be pretty cool.

Turns out that the Western Montana State Fair will be held this week.  We plan to hit the fair for half a day on our way back, Thursday.

On to Billings...

Some drug dealer carrying a gun gets shot, and because he was black it's a racist attack by the Police. They don't quite get that if an Asian or a white drug dealer carried a gun on public transport and pulled that gun out he'd also be shot.

This has been made racist by the targetting of whites for muggings and armed robberies. In this instance it is the black community that is racist and they are using it as an exuse to steal. To be fair though, it makes for good TV and you can expect it from time to time in the cities in England. It's a popcorn moment and it's gonna result in a U-turn in the cuts to Police budgets and relaxation of the laws governing the roles and conduct of the Police.

The middle classes have had it coming to them for close on two decades now. The cuddly nature of dealing with criimals, and the wet attitudes of socialism means there is no way Britain can deal with violence. People are so thick, they don't see these things coming until it bites them in the ass.

In regard to the dead drug dealer and his family, F"ckem. Any family who lives under the guard of a gangster and off the money of that gangster's business, and in the knowledge that that person wields and uses a gun, deserves no respoct from society or it's Police force. They deserve no explanation or courtesy.
