SJW — "Star Jedi Wars" tropes? Typo? Star Wars Jedi tropes makes more sense.

All the movies are about fighting space nazis (to one degree or another), essentially making them WWII films. After seeing the past three or so years unfold, I pretty much buy the teddy bear picnic infantry taking down Stormtroopers™ a lot more easily now. Stormtroopers all seem to have Achille's glass jaws.

Can't get more Star Jedi Wars than that, I guess.

I liked the Last Jedi. It had some good moments, and some of the old magic. I recall seeing complaints about the lasersword fights in these last three, but I'm kind of amazed no one seems to bring up Alec Guiness vs. David Prowse in the first movie.

The rest were kind of meh, really. This is what you get when you let the fandom run a franchise.

I get a lot more out of rewatching Sanjuro, Yojimbo, or The Hidden Fortress. But if I'm being painfully honest, I find that's true of the entire franchise.

Actually, are we sure it's not Star Wars Jedi tropes? That makes way more sense than Social Justice Warrior tropes. I saw all three of those movies and I didn't see any lecturing along those lines.

Oh I should confess that the third movie, as meh as I found it to be, had two things I really liked: the chaotic seas surrounding a piece of the Death Star II on the forest moon, and the reappearance of Han Solo.

That moment brought tears. My dad introduced me to Star Wars when I was seven, and up until these last three, we were able to watch almost all of them together in theaters (save the first prequel). Every time we would do this ritual, I would be reminded of him getting off the ship and taking us immediately to see Star Wars—he'd seen it in England on his tour of duty, and was greatly enthused.

My dad passed away last year, and I miss him. Seeing Han Solo again was pretty effective.

Recent events being what they are, it seems like a couple of 50-year-old wargames have become increasingly relevant:

I played and collected Pokemon when my boys did.  My favorite story is that we three went to our local FLGS to play in a Pokemon tournament.  We came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.  I still have most of my collection, but I don't play or add to my collection anymore.

My nephew seems to leave his strewn everywhere.

I've been sweeping them up and throwing them away, frustrated at the waste.

Should I not be doing this?

Honestly, in played condition, they are just cards. Most of the packs 7+ years old are going for some coin. The oldest boxes, went up 400% or more after the stimulus went out and they dont seem to be looking back.
