A 3rd Edition Chainmail, probably a 5th or 6th print based on sellers date of 1978.

Started at .99 cents.

Nods... yep.
This same seller was posted in this thread several days ago regarding his other fantasy related listing.

A 5th print white box set with a pretty much-crushed box and no reference sheets.
Also has the Supplement books and all of them look to be early prints with Lizards on all the covers.
Even so, IMO, especially since seller did not list printings for the Supplemnt books, the seller started the listing too high at $327.68 USD.
Not a single bid has been placed on that listing and I think the seller made a strategic error in using such a high starting price on the OD&D listing.

On the other hand; with the PHB early print and DMG 1st the seller started the listing at $9.99 and that listing is at, or very close to the max I would pay for those books.

It is not over yet, but the Seller might have had a better chance to get his price on the OD&D books and White Box Set by listing each Supplement (with printing data) and the Box Set into 6 individual listings with manageable starting prices on each....

The 20 year anniversary book use to go for $100+ by itself. I would have been tempted to make a competitive bid if I didn't have one already.

Well, I ended up 2nd place there. Couldn't hang around until the end and had to run so I put in a $200 bid and hoped for the best ...

was the 20year anniversary book the similar one that Bracton got last year or the year before in one of those conglomeration-of-stuff lots?

Maybe, I can't remember which lot that was. Its the gold covered book in the mix. It was a staff only book - I picked up my copy from the Sue Cook auctions. The value on them has been somewhat down lately since it is basically all the same stuff that is listed in the 25th Anniversary book.

I'd be curious about the other stuff that came in this packet though.

Yep. Same thing. Other than that one and this one, I haven't seen one come up on eBay, so I don't have a good idea of a market price for it.

and there's no real difference between it and the one in the 30th anniversary set? Was it just a reprint (except for the cover) that appeared in the 30th anniversary set?

I just checked the copy of The Story of TSR from my Silver Anniversary Set. The text is very similar (through 1994 anyway), though on a quick look there are some differences here and there. I'm not sure how material they may be. I'll have to look more closely. There's also a page entitled "Needy Family Support" in Twenty Years, which I don't see in the Silver Anniversary version. There are also some differences in who provided the "Reminiscences". So it looks close, but it isn't a reprint of the same text.

These did come up more frequently in the past - I remember maybe a half dozen of them. They used to sell for $100-$150-$200 even. I can remember getting Monte Cook's for around $80 and being surprised I got it.
