and I'm surprised that the last two open box sets sold for around $150. It didn't seem that long ago that they were going in the $100 range

This is another one that over time should ramp up in value (maybe it is showing signs of that now).  I think we are still in an economic depression and this boxed set is really one that still appeals to the masses (not just a small group of collectors).  The price not so long ago was generally $100 and you could even get ones in shrink for this price.  $150 was really a top end price for shrink copies.  Curious to see what the shrink one sells for.

Bad news:

With the federal government allowing gas prices to skyrocket and everyone losing cost of living increases and paying more for benifits, the economic depression is yet to hit full force.

Just wait until they start to cut the school year and enforce public worker days off....

Gas prices here have been high lately too - equivalent to about $4.75 USD per gallon.  Lucky for us long time buyers the Canadian dollar is still high and everything seems like such a bargain.  Even buying from the UK is 20-25% cheaper than it was 3 years ago.

Already happening here in Michigan. My wife is a teacher and she took a hit of about 7% this year not including huge increases in medical co-pays, deductibles, etc. Last year it was 3%. I don't think she has had a raise in several years. Meanwhile the administration has not taken a single hit and in fact their pay has increased. Teachers are #1 on the hit list. Easy targets. This year they added unpaid days off (mandatory).
It is only going to get worse.

Decent looking copy of the Rules Cyclopedia that EV1 seems to be going gaga over.

$35 starting price  with $50 BIN.

There is some other crap in the listing too, but nothing worth noting.

Well, the seller does state "Original Collector's Edition". I can't see a clear sign of the starburst, but I definately see only two lines of text by the logo. By appearances, 6th.

No Binder?
Then I wont be bidding on it...
They hold hidden treasures I tells ya!

I would like to try something new and adventurous!
Perhaps I will list a lot with a 3-ring Binder in it, say within the next couple of weeks.
And I will GURANTEE that SOMETHING nice and uncommon will be inside, but of course it will not be pictured, or described at all.
