I wonder if we all broke the internet clicking 'seller's other items' just now...

Congrats to the lucky bidder :)

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

Shoulda been: ".. from Pangreenia to Floratopolis, from mystical Treeonia of spectral Forests to Schruborial dimensions." - The Forests of Leng

they also did well on 1st print monster manual with errata sheet for $61 instead of $1,825. 24/7 on ebay maybe? ;)

Looks like the seller had wood grain as two words. Maybe that could be the reason?

I actually have the search saved using "wood grain" and "woodgrain" .... just another black eye from eBay  PDT_Armataz_01_05

I did not see where the lucky winner won a 1st print Monster Manual, but I did come across these other cool items they won. Not sure how they are managing to find all of this great stuff ... it just takes so much time  8O

It only lasted for about an hour.  If the rares bot or the ebay alerts don't run during that time, you'll never know.

Hey guys, just found out about this thread at GaryCon over the weekend. We did indeed buy the woodgrain set. It was a 2nd print(box solid, no split corners) and also had a 1st Greyhawk, 1st GD&H, 1st Eldtrich, and a 9th print Blackmoor.  :D  :D

Finally have a woodgrain back in the collection.

Available now from Die Cast Games: Night of the Black Swords by Allen Hammack (Author of C2-The Ghost Tower of Inverness) with artwork by Jeff Easley and Diesel.

Ships only to UK, while other items from the seller ship only to EU. Which in this case apparently does not mean Estados Unidos. Darn.

I didn't realize you'd moved to Mexico...

(Oops; same difference? ;))

So one would think. However when a Mexican Spanish speaker refers to the EU, they generally mean EU de A rather than EU de M, although they sometimes spell it EE.UU to distinguish it from Europe, or EU de Norte A to distinguish it from the rest of the Americas (despite being part of the North American Continent, el Norte means USA & Canada). From there it just gets complicated. Are the Scots British?

*g* Just as well Colombia got out of that ballgame so as not to "confuse" matters even further.

Not so many. The Welsh on the other hand...

Heh; just spent 10 minutes trying to find something to post here to keep on topic, but without success. Rather like waiting for arcana to be unearthed?

So what then is the illustrated flyer in the auction? Is it the "D&D Explanatory Sheet" mentioned on the Odd Items page? Is it based on Steve Jackson's Ground Goblins article from Games & Puzzles?

It appears to be the player information page (pg 31-32) mentioned here B1 Foreign.

More interesting to me is what are the French translations of the two booklets that are mentioned?  Are they homebrew translations of Holmes and B1 or something official?  Are they period or recent?
