Are they always this color? I know nothing about Dragon Dice, but I am pretty sure I have several that look like these poking around my dice bag. It's as big as Oprah's ass and been being added to randomly for 35 years. If someone won this let me know and I'll see if I have the d6. I'd be happy to send it to you.

If you hit a Rowsdower, you get to keep it.

I don't know much about woodgrains, but I'm thinking of bidding on this. Can anyone determine what printing this is?  Any guestimates about a 'fair market value'?

It's a third printing.  See the fourth photo, which shows the inside cover of one of the booklets.

A third print sold back in August for $1856.  It looked like the books in that one were in similar condition (though no writing was referenced), the box much worse than this one.  I don't have a link saved, but you can find it in the Classifieds -- Rares Formerly on eBay subforum.

At first thought Shady Dealer was more appropriate but the feedback amount is high and 100%, so didn't want to just assume...but obviously exact same pictures for both, just $600 difference. Just struck me as odd to do that when asking far above market value (for condition IMHO).

Star Empires by TSR ... never seen this before, but nice condition.

Star Probe by TSR ... never saw this before either. Cover in great shape, but highlighting present & separated internal page. Appears complete.

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Would be great to pick these up to have a complete early TSR inventory, but can't swing these at this time  PDT_Armataz_01_02

I sold a 3rd print earlier this year for GBP 1346 on auction. The books were NM (really!), the box was VG. A member here kindly pointed out to me that the same account ( ruckman3 ) then sold a 3rd print (possibly the one bought from me) a short while later for USD 4,800 (!) on a BIN. So, as they say, your mileage may vary :)

I thought this looked quite nice. Some plus points: the price discount writing on the box lid is super-cute, the box looks sturdy, the corners look quite good even with the close-up. I am less worried about a few stray pen marks on an old game booklet. The buyer sounded agreable in his description; I would have wanted to check for staple rust on the booklets and I would have sent him a message asking about old smells (tobacco, damp, mould etc..). But otherwise a nice buy!  :D

Curious version of the MM: seller writes 3rd edition (print), while logo on cover is still lizardman (only for 1st and 2nd)...

It looks like they have incorrectly identified it, as it states "2nd Edition, May 1978" on the copyright page, and matches the description on The Acaeum for that printing.
