Yeppers, looks like a cut and paste job. The adhesive strip at the top of the pad reminds me of the kind I saw in one of those children's 'how-to' activity books many years ago. I would not think it  something likely to be seen from a print house TSR would have used. Home brew all the way.

I would be wary of these because of their lack of any real production demands.  Ten minutes with Visio coupled with a decent laser printer and some heavy stock paper and someone could mass produce these where no one could tell the difference.  This isn't a knock on muaddib5 by any means, and his reputation is not being questioned at all, so please don't get me wrong. They are cool if they are the real thing (which I'm sure they are) but it begs the question. How does one really verify their authenticity vs a knock off?  

Just for the sake of openness, I must have edited this post about 20 times trying to get the wording right.  If it comes across any differently than an honest question, that wasn't my intent and for that I am sorry.

No offense, but given his credentials (as well as his standing on the Acaeum) I'm pretty sure this is the real deal. I have previously sold an #8002 Hex sheet, and these things are something to behold, and have a distinct "heavy" feel to them.  In the photos, note the very minor handling creases and corner bumps that would not have happened under normal circumstances,  if someone recently printed it out on an oversized printer. (Mine had been stored in a tube for a very long time, so had some yellowing at the edges and couldn't be flattened easily. But that's because some of these Hex Sheets were sold in tubes, while others were not.)

I don't claim to be the authority on these things, but between the seller's standing and  Acaeum credibility, along with my own experience selling one of these Hex Sheets (so I know what to look for), I'd advise taking a deep breath and bidding with confidence.

No offense taken.  In this day and age, we as collectors should question things.  These are legit.  I was in the right place at the right time and was able to buy a lot of 8002 and 8003 right after they were posted on eBay (a year or so ago now, I have the paypal receipts to verify the two separate purchases).  This is the third set I've sold of the batch.  The winner of the auction is a member here and should be able to authenticate the items after he receives them.

Both sets of sheets have been rolled up for the majority of their 40 year existence.  So getting them to lay flat is not easy.  And all the 8002's I received are not in as good of shape as the 8003's.  But both are very nice considering their age and fragility.
