DT was fantastic, but I like Matt Smith. Never a fan of McCoy, but Tom Baker remains my fondest Dr who

Mine is also Tom Baker (with DT 2nd).

Malc, who is slightly older, and had an elder brother to inDOCtrinate him, prefers Jon Pertwee.

I liked Matt Smith in his first season, but 'The' Doctor for me is Tom Baker.

just find Matt Smith too wishy-washy. He runs round like a headless chicken sometimes.

Indeed, would you trust him with the survival of the whole human species?

Nah, I would rate him deffo in the bottom half of the Doctor Who scale.

Nice link about the Christopher Lee stuff! Haha! If you like the metal stuff I would recommend his work with Rhapsody and Manowar. Especially the Rhapsody: Symphony of Enchanted Lands II: The Dark Secret. Very good! Then again, I like that stuff. Never heard his Christmas songs though.

Sorry, but here in the UK, that NRA spokesman just looked like a nutter. I kept expecting him to start foaming at the mouth.

They recommended more guns in schools to stop similar incidents.

After the school shootings here in 1996 when 16 were killed, laws were passed on certain guns and cartridges etc, regardless of calibre and there hasn't been a school shooting since. Interesting to consider if that's relevant, but to blame video games, RPGs, wet weather is a nonsense.

The issue is letting down those who need support and who flip, taking easy lives with them.

Of course, it was only Bunco, but isn't that a gateway game into other dice games like D&D?

Seriously, it appears the NRA is doing all it can to spin itself out of the spotlight and deflect to other subjects and/or solutions other than limiting certain guns and/or magazines. I'm not saying they are primarily at fault here, but, as a gun owner, I was hoping they would own up to some places where improvement is possible. By not being conciliatory, they seem to be increasingly viewed as bad guys, to use their own terminology, instead of the good guys. And I do think violent video games do play a part of our overall culture of killing, so it's not like the NRA's point is completely irrelevant. And there are many other valid facets to this massacre, but it appears that the main rallying cry has to do with editing our interpretation of the 2nd amendment. Or then again, maybe they are smarter than I am, and they know this will mostly blow over.

Truth is worth finding and life is too short to work for money.

If people considered children to be as valued as money there would have been armed guards around them already. A requirement for teachers to learn how to use firearms and at least a certain percentage of them to be armed seems like an extremely reasonable precaution whether an attacker is armed with a firearm, a blade or is even bare-handed, that attacker could be stopped dead.

The purpose of an armed population is a protection of that populations freedom. Once a population is disarmed then it trusts that the government will 'always' be benevolent. Once a population is disarmed it no longer knows how to use a firearm. Unlike popular movies, TV and fiction, you cannot just pick up a firearm and know how to use it accurately or know how to maintain it. The purpose of owning a weapon like an AR-15 is to have familiarity of a combat grade weapon. I trust the free citizens of the USA much more than I trust any government now or what it may one day become.

The murder of these children is being used by the ignorant or duplicitous politicians to rob the current and future generations of their freedom.

I'm reasonably sure that for several years, any country that is not ruled by a dictator has not had the need to have guns carried around by the entire public. Armies are in place for protection of invasion.

I don't see that the UK, Canada, France, Australia, Sweden or similar countries have any need for the public to carry guns. On the same basis, neither should the US have the need. However, it is your 'right' to do so. So you can face the consequences and should not really complain when there is a massacre of innocents by someone who did not need to own a gun and used by someone who should never have come into contact with it.

In Norway, that nutter had a gun and used it indiscriminently. He was mental, was caught and is imprisoned. Columbine and now this attack, bares similarities I guess, but it seems too easy in the US to do so.

I think there is a difference between
a) nutters with a political ideology (Brevik, al0queda, IRA etc)
b) general nutters with no particular axe to grind
