Other than the fact that it is bundled with the display, is there anything special about the boxed set?  Was it a special print or a specific print only available w/the display?  Curious as the bidding has rapidly eclipsed what I thought it might be worth.

I wouldn't think it's anything too special. Likely an early print, since it was evidently shipped out with the display, and shrinkwrapped still, but no big whoop there. Might just be the relative rarity (I think I've only ever seen one outside of the store where I bought my Basic Set :)), or just new bidders, or the fact that it was apparently never actually set up by the store to which it was sent.

Actually, I haven't bid on it. My wife would kill me before I could finish putting it together. But it is an interesting item indeed.

Hector.

The display is just an unconventional survivor, that's all. Boxed set is just a bonus.

It kind of looks like the same display except without that header piece...

Huh.

Yeah, that does look like the same thing, though I imagined it would be.. taller (from my very likely faulty 30-year-old memory of it). Like a freestanding floor display, rather than a countertop display. There might have been different versions, I suppose. I'm kind of glad I've beed outbid at this point.

Sorry Gnat, I got this one. It's all new stuff to me! Hoping the Basic Set is complete. Never seen Tegel Manor.

Hector.

It was not Tegel Manor I was after as I have several of them.
And I agree with Al (from the previous page) you will LOVE it.
That would have been a bonus item for me and I probably would have re-listed it.
.... Or not, like I said I have several copies and never seem to be able to list any of them.

Anyway, I had my eyes and all my attention on another listing going on at the same time (Roughly)....

It is a nice lot of items and IMO you got it for a good price too. 8)
Congrats on the win.

Thank you. There was another item from the same seller I also wanted, but I lost it by 2 cents. TWO CENTS!

Like you said: Dang!

An interesting find, indeed.

Ah! I thought I saw the odd color once before. Must've passed over it when checking that page. Shame it has no cover, though. But, lotsa pages left.

I have a set of these. If I get time, I will post a picture tomorrow. Mine are 1979 set and still have cover sheet with Wham art.

So, what I asked the seller was, "What is the significance of this item being from the collection of Rhea Shelley?"

"But I have watched the dragons come, fire-eyed, across the world."

Not a lot other than Rhea had one of the biggest collections at one time.  I imagine it is still quite substantial.

I don't get why the seller id is rshelley and then the text refers to her in the third person...

I think that Rhea Shelley is a him...
As for the feedback score, ALL FIVE of the NEGS this seller has are from a single buyer who did not like the SH charges for one shipment of five magazines all from single magazine listings.
The mags sold for 99 cents each.... and SH was probably more than the total cost for the mags.

And the buyer probably did not read, or ignored the combined shipping statement that was in each of those auctions...
Shipping: I am happy to combine shipping on multiple auction wins. If you are bidding on multiple auctions please wait for all auctions to end before making your final payment so the system may combine all cost & the shipping calculator will determine the combined rate automatically.

This just goes to show how a single unhappy buyer can ruin your reputation on E-Bay.
Selling on E-Bay can be hell...
