i suppose i should offer up a (partial) list of better qb's than bradshaw:
1)graham
2)montana
3)unitas
4)manning
5)baugh
6)marino
7)young

favre
9)elway
10)staubach
11)brady
12)jurgenson/luckman/van brocklin/dawson/anderson/tarkenton and then
18)brees (probably too low here but i didn't feel like taking the time to analyze his ranking further) warner/aikman. that's 20. now bradshaw would creep into the discussion, with guys like kelly/starr/tittle. that sounds about right: bradshaw was about the 25th best qb in nfl history. yes that means he's still a hall of famer, but it also means he has been wildly overrated by people not looking past the number 4 (when the real credit for their success should go to greene, lambert, webster, ham, blount, harris, etc.

Bradshaw cannot be rated by stats alone. Four Super Bowls and a decade of dominance mean something. So does his ongoing contribution to the game. The Hall of Fame is not just about stats.

i am not rating him by stats alone. what i am stating is my belief that if you replaced bradshaw with any of the people i listed above him, the steelers would have won more games, and the same number, or more, of super bowls.

It's possibly true.

Football often turns upon intangibles...what a quarterback did not do can also be very important.

Hey guys;

I made my podcasting debut on THACOs Hammer this week, the recording should be up tomorrow or Monday. This is by the same guy (Vince) who does the 1E podcast Roll For Initiative and Basic D&D podcast Save or Die. THACOSHammer is dedicated to 2E, a system I still play and support, so I think I was able to hold my own with the other hosts. Let me know if there is anything we can do to improve the show. I'm hoping at some point to work in a little Acaeum love, maybe we can have a "collector's corner" segment at some point.

Although if I really had the desire to watch something quite spectacular, I would probably go with one of the martial arts (judo, tae kwon do, or fencing). And after watching Reclaiming the Blade last night I would probably go for fencing.

we'll be going to the rowing - only because I can walk to the venue in about 15 minutes (and there's quite a nice pub on the way to!!)

You can never have too much of something you didn't need in the first place.

Did anyone else score 2 VIP Tickets to the Big 10 Basketball Championship March 10-13? Ex-girlfriend can't use the tickets so she sent them to me. I must have been better than I thought!!!

I get into every game free. I also get into each teams resturant. It's going to be a great weekend.
