That's more than a complete run of Dragon would sell for.

+1 on this whole section

at least four of the different chalices are all actually the same one that got passed from collection to collection.  When I have time, I will post the ownership history as I understand it for the permanent record.

Got 2 around here somewhere.

When the posters went up for sale, it was discovered there were only 2 sets... and Gail was going to keep a set... so they went high... only pristine sets owned by Gary.... they went so high, Gail opted to let the second set go to the next highest bidder for the same price... money talks :)

Well, this is only Dragon #1 found in Gary's Collection (verified), at least in the 2 pallets of stuff the Collector's Trove picked up from Gail (unless Gail is with holding and not telling). So owning the only Dragon #1 in Gary's collection has it's price.

I was looking at $1000~$1200 at least on this item, looks like it's gone beyond my guess... and I was about to put $1500 out there next, but at $2000+, I just don't think it'll wind up in my collection. If it did, it would never be in the NTRPGCon raffle !

Thank God cause I thought it might be you, since it was the only Dragon #1.  From a purely collectible viewpoint I don't think it's worth half that, even with Gary's sig (which it doesn't have).  But from a "I've got the only Dragon #1 in Gary's collection" viewpoint, I guess you could justify maybe two grand (?) at most, and I'd still want Gary's sig on it.  Still got two days left so it'll be interesting to see where this goes!

I thought maybe $1200.  The trend I've observed is take top value and * 3 for these auctions.  Sad thing is I've seen some of the items resold already for significantly less than what they sell for when they get ran in a group like this.  Nothing like taking a 200% loss an item you just bought 6 months ago.

2 and a half grand .... I am impressed .... Now even I would not spend that much on a Dragon mag .... though if it was a hand drawn map he played from that would be a different story  :D

Hey everyone,

So I lost out on the following item:

RPGA Membership Handbook Version 1.5, May 1999

** expired/removed eBay auction **

It looked interesting and I was in at US$15.00 willing to go up to US$20.00 but I was surprised when it ended at double that price.

Is this a rare item?

Best regards,
Ronald

Expert box which looks to be very clean, but missing dice.

The mint X1 could worth the starting price perhaps.

Thanks for blowing my cover, Ronald.  I thought that I might be able to sneak that by everyone. :D

Looks like serian is in with the second bid in less than three hours after your post.  Dagnabit!

LB

p.s.  Then Gnat bids with less than five hours to go.  How many Acaeum members will bid on this?  Who will win?  Will it go for more than the other one sitting at $25 and no bids?
