Minor quibble, when I'm on the main page, there isn't something I can click to refresh the page, that I've found. I know I can hit f5 to refresh the page, but I normally browse mostly with my mouse. I think there used to be a link that would take you to the front page of the forums again. You can get to the main acaeum site by clicking The Acaeum up top, but not the main site of the forums again. This is solved in subforums with the breadcrumbs at top and bottom.

Just for you... if you click "The Acaeum Forums" on the main page (in the brown bar), it is now set up as a circular link, i.e. it will refresh the page.  :)

I can't figure out how to make my text smaller.

I always leave my old PM's in my inbox, in the old system I think it automaticallly droped the oldest PM when a new PM arrived.. now you have to make room.. I don't think this needs to be fixed.. just letting people know thats all

Use the drop down menu above the text box that says Normal and change it to Small or Tiny.

Awesome! Perfect, it's one of the things I tried to click when the new forums came on line.

Thanks!

Links inside posts are nearly the same color as the text.
At least it seems so to my old eyes anyway.
Certainly not enough difference for older eyes.
I find it difficult to even notice them if they are fancied up with text that does not look like a URL link.

Please see this thread for an example of what I mean.
acaeum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2& ... 69#p194469

The first two words (Imgur album) in the original post of the thread are actually a link to a site with pictures.
I missed it completely until later and sort of wondered what the OP was talking about with pictures since I saw none in the post....

Hey; I use that as a positive feature in order to scatter Easter Eggs through my posts without drawing too much attention to them. :P
I suppose I could just make them very small instead...

Scott---

Are you nixing all search bots, or just non-Google search bots?  I've found searching on Google to be a huge boon for querying the site.  And, relatedly, can you put in a redirect for the bad links in Google search results that are broken now?  Searching from my Firefox's search box is quicker and faster than hopping onto the site to do it, and often I can get a piece of info/data that I'm seeking straight from the Google search results without having to dig into the page itself.

Or do you now need to log on to see the body of the message text? I can't log on at work, so the old style was better for getting PMs during the day.

I was kinda split on that feature, honestly.

edit:  nevermind, you already fixed it :D

Also, and unrelatedly:  do you have a mod to allow you to link to or ID a specific post?  It would be nice to be able to point to one now and then.  IIRC, I've done it in the past by searching on someone's posts via their profile, and then linking to the post from the listing there, but that's a long and arduous process :D

No search bots are blocked.  Google (and the rest) will eventually update their links; you can't really speed it up, unfortunately.

Yep -- the little page icon at the top of each post, next to "Posted:".

Scott---

Any chance that you can increase the number of PMs allotted per account?  I'm generally full, even after moving stuff from my Inbox to Saved Folder....

A redirect would help in the meanwhile, though.  You can also request that they reindex the site via their webmaster tools (see http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot. ... ch-as.html for info).

Now how did I forget about that?  Thanks!

The default behavior has been changed back to delete-the-oldest.

Nope.  :)  You get 100 messages in your PM box, and 100 more in your Saved box.  If you wish to save / archive more PMs than that, you'll have to export them out, via the links at the bottom of the Inbox.

For some reason the links I am posting for the Judges Guild Index pages are not working.
I am doing a copy paste method for posting them.

Please see my last post on the JG Forum under interesting items on e-Bay thread there.

You had the links enclosed in [ url ] tags.  You don't need those -- the forum can figure out what's a link and treat it accordingly.  By putting [ url ] tags, you tell the forum to treat anything inside as a URL.  In this case, there was an acronym buried in there (jg), which then got inserted into the link.

I took out the URL tags on your message, so it works fine now.

I've noticed a few times now that Google Bots are showing up as Registered Users Online.  Havent noticed any advertisement posts yet though.
