Sellers domestic "Economy" shipping costs are also at least thrice actual cost.

There are not that many books in that little lot.

Amazon. Where the term 'fair market value' means nothing.

Plus, I mean, I know the pic is a stock photo, but the book is listed as being in Acceptable condition - how could anyone possibly resist such a sweet deal?!?!

* Acceptable: A book with obvious wear. May have some damage to the cover but integrity still intact. The binding may be slightly damaged but integrity is still intact. Possible writing in margins, possible underlining and highlighting of text, but no missing pages or anything that would compromise the legibility or understanding of the text.

A nice-looking Holmes, but $110??? Then I looked at the bidders - noobs or shills?

Clueless. They were probably surprised to see this whilst looking through the model railroading stuff where it was listed and went berserk over their youth, not realizing they could get this elsewhere on EBay much cheaper.

Makes me want to list things in the wrong place.

Can anyone explain to me what's going on here? $100 (so far) for a DMG, PHB, and a couple common modules... I must be missing something.

I think there's been a major screw-up by EBay from a retracted bid. Check out the bid history including automatic bids. There is nothing to force the $100 bid. Top bid should be $36 if I understand things correctly.

As a buyer, I'd be a bit peeved right now. But, considering the buyer is willing at $100 in the first place...

$100 reserve - the bidder hit the reserve, cancelled their bid, then made another (presumably lower?) bid. Tsk, tsk...

Ah, didn't know about the reserve. That'll 'splain it. It doesn't 'splain why someone thought $100 was a fair price from either perspective though.  :?
