JCD - I think it was more a case that those 'above' all of a sudden couldn't point the finger or be specific about who passed what information to whom, as opposed to 'they all look the same to me'. It is very rare for an anonymous member of the ATS or SAS to ever be outed by the press. I am sure when it does happen the courts fine the press responsible very heavily, and the individuals responsible get visited by verious representatives of our security services. It is a line the press in the UK know not to cross.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

My mice have had babies; I heard squeaking.

Does anyone have experience with buying "live mouse traps"? I have no idea where I would buy such an item other than online (which I may do).

My plan is to buy traps and put the mouse family in an aquarium or something. I'm making this up as I go along, so this brilliant plan could turn into a miasma of mouse bodies.

We used to have a grouchy friend who had a million bird feeders and hated squirrels. So for a small fee, we would catch the squirrels and release them in our yard, as we think squirrels are fun. Good luck.

I made need a few of them.

I think I will first try a homemade trap:

. . . Cut out a sliver of cardboard
. . . Put food on one end
. . . Balance the cardboard on the edge of a shelf
. . . Put an empty garbage can underneath the cardboard

The delver, errr, mouse should walk onto the cardboard and fall into the trash can.

I'll try factory-made traps if my homemade variations fail.

Yeah, I have seen these two guys (well, one male and one female). They are grey/brown mice who leave little turds in various locations. More mice may be hiding around the house, but these two have set up housekeeping behind two heavily-laden bookshelves.

Yes, they are. They also have some intelligence and are not aggressive, which is why I haven't bothered to kill them. Rats, OTOH, are intelligent, aggressive, and large. If they were rats, they would be dead by now. I do not want anything in the house that would eat out my eyes while I sleep.

I was going to name them after various rats like Cougar, Creep, and the like, but that would harm the egos of the mice.

I am assuming that I can catch the mice and keep them alive. I may end up tossing them into the new neighbor's yard. :lol:

It worked, but since I do not want to torture the li'l guy, I had to choose between freeing him and smashing him with my small sledgehammer.

If you free it, odds are it will show up again a few days later. You could buy a cheap hamster cage on craigslist or somewhere like that and turn them into pets. Or you could see if a local pet store would take them to use for snake food. At least that way you wouldnt have to have their deaths on your conscience.

Hi,

wild mice carry disease.

Turning them into pets is NOT a good idea.

We had rats in the back garden once.

We rang the Local Council, who sent a man round.

He made a big effort not to harm any of the other wildlife (mainly foxes and squirrels) we have.

Never saw any more rats tho.

Well sure they do but actually getting one is pretty hard unless you pick them up and lick them, let them walk around on your food, or put them in damp, dark places that they dont belong. :roll:

I once cleaned a storage shed out that was nothing but one huge breeding ground for mice. I can't imagine just how much mouse crap I inhaled that day. Twenty years later and I'm still Hantavirus free.

I trapped a mouse last night, but he immediately escaped from the mouse cage that I bought. Who markets a cage with bars as a mouse cage? What sort of idiot buys such an obviously porous cage? :oops:

After the mouse escaped, last night was fairly quiet . . .

Tonight I opened up the live trap that I had set. One mouse was inside; he was barely moving. Being trapped in a cold, dark, confined space with no water for 24 hours is not good for a mammal. I rinsed him off and soaked him in hot water to warm him up. I place him in a newly-purchased solid mouse-house and dried him off with a hair dryer.

He died . . . but he was dry and curled up rather than filthy and splayed-out. Such was not the plan, but I must live with the results.

I know Giants fans were feeling bad after getting clobbered by the Eagles this weekend, but really:

BTW....first time EVER a top rated seed coming off a SB win lost at home. Along with the Panthers debacle against the Cards, the stink is entirely off the Cowboys retched season. Thanks again to the Giants and Panthers for showing it could have been a lot worse...... :wink:

Have to say I'm a little surprised it got that out of hand. I've been to the Meadowlands many times (Jets games, NEVER a Giants game), and the parking areas have always been pretty heavily staffed.

Who parks their Porsche over a bed of glowing coals, anyway?
