Now that I think about it... this might be where I got my TSR poster:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

In my basic set... Either that or Waldenbooks gave it as a freebie

Yeah, like the deep-box UK Holmes Basic.  Nice item, though condition could be better.

I was gonna say that box looked deeper than normal.

did the UK art version predate this version?

I'm sure Devon would know.  I think the burnie bros. sold one at GenCon last summer.

Of course, if all of the combo packs were left unopened back then they wouldn't be worth much now.

Is it correct that it would have the lizard man logo on the box and then the wizard on the module on the inside?

Most of the items are in pretty good shape (cities of mystery for example) but I thought it might be possible that some things got shuffled.

Icy Queens Crossing, what a crappy title. Thought someone mentioned this in a different thread? Overpriced 4e stuff maybe?

Ironically, the three-book boxed set of the first 4th Edition hardbacks was the only thing about 4th Edition that was not overpriced.

I suspect one of the big causes for the surge and quick subsidence of 4th Edition was caused by the high prices on the supporting materials.

What new gamer is going to pay $70 for the three core rulebooks and then keep paying in the $30 range for modules?

That, and the foolish stifling of a third-party market.

That, and the astonishing fact that the three core books did not include the entire core of the game...character classes left out, etc.

That, and the folly of canceling Dragon and Dungeon magazines, leaving Paizo with the heart of the RPG gaming market.

Hmmm.... :?

Bit chewed up so I'm guessing the seller is happy to take $20 for it.

What a pity the Dragon's Lair box has thick packing over it. It looked like it was NM before that.

Whoa Nelly! Some folks covet the shrink...

** expired/removed eBay auction **

There's a basic set in shrink which I'm sure the same folks are already aware of

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Can it be discerned from looking at the back of the sets how early of a print they're from, or do you have to have the lid actually open to see the construction?
