Speaking of track and field, just spent a nice day at Franklin Field in Philly watching my son run in the prestigious Penn Relays, founded in 1895 and the oldest and largest track meet in the US. They came in 5th out of 9 in their heat in the 4 x 100, but it was a close finish, which is pretty nice considering they were running against a high school team from Jamaica (and some other really impressive teams from the US).

Denial is an awfully good word here. Why don't parents want their kids to play? You've raised the issue even if you proceed to repudiate it. Bummer. Alas, this portends badly for the rest of the U.S, but for now it appears you really shouldn't 'mess with Texas' even if you are a multi-billion dollar corporation.

It was only a matter of time. Amazon was skirting the laws using the broadest possible definition of "physical presence". Eventually they will be collecting sales taxes all over the US, depending on what they work out state by state.

"Over 2,500 jobs created" my ass. Maybe 100 at the most. I'd love to see the formulas they use to figure out that bullshit.

It means they're going to buy up or become majority stock owner in smaller businesses through the $200Mil in "capital investments" which lets them claim an increase of 2,500 jobs to them, even if that number actually lose their jobs from being acquired.

Of course, that's purely speculation on my part :wink:

Haven't seen that film yet. I asked my wife to buy Troll Hunter for my birthday. Look forward to seeing it as Norwegian is my second language.
