Was the seller's address in NJ? If so and you are somewhat close to the area and can go to that state (or possibly file through your state if there's a "long arm" statute), I think you could file in small claims court against them. I realize that you'd have to pay initial costs to file and serve them.

Also, if you paid by your cc maybe check with them and see what the time limit is on charge backs? It's worth a look into.

This kind of stuff makes me angry too.

Thanks for the advice.  I don’t remember the seller’s state, but it was definitely the seller which distributed the first wave of these items (at least on eBay).  I did what I could at the time to recoup the money that I spent, but it ended up just becoming a fairly expensive life lesson.

The seller sold about $3K or more of the stickers before they were shut down, so you weren't alone in being scammed.

Hey, I was thinking maybe you could change the thread name to include specific words about the fake hologram stickers. This would be for the future in case anyone searches for the information that wasn't aware of what "Blaine" and others were doing in this scam.

Look what's back...

** expired/removed eBay auction **

** expired/removed eBay auction **

They might have already sold at least couple:

Vintage TSR Dungeon & Dragons 80’s Decal Sticker Deities Demigods RARE Internal  | eBay

** expired/removed eBay auction **

It's possible this seller picked these up off of someone and is reselling them.  The list is still shady, regardless.  We'll see if they come up with some more.

Saw that. Contacted seller without response and reported to eBay. Obviously the scammer. Likely the same one, but maybe not. Either way I think eBay is responsible for not acting on reports fast, or at all.

Looks like one sold within the past month.

I think they might be trying to be clever with the ebay listing. The title says "Vintage" but in the listing description, they have it checked as "Brand New"

The seller codesofthestreet101 has indicated that they are going to remove the listings, now that they are aware that they are fakes.  That was the honorable thing to do.

No additional information on how they acquired them yet.

Just wanted to bump this back up for those who aren't aware as I'm seeing multiple listings across multiple sellers coming back up under eBay's "explore related items" recommendations to me. Sorry don't have time to list them atm, but are easy to find of course.

On a positive note, Dutch Bros was up like 13% today. :) Smoothies are ligit I guess?

And the scam continues.  Sadly, people are still getting duped out of a lot of money.

Here's two of the accounts being used to scam people:

benzito1 (4577)
Santa Maria, California

Five TSR Dungeons and Dragons Rare Promotional Cards of Book Covers Rare Read!

$1,500.00   * sold *   (fixed price)
ended     Wed Jun 10th  6:23pm EDT
Seller:  benzito1

clonehero (792)
Salt Lake City, Utah

Four TSR Dungeons and Dragons Rare Promotional Cards of Book Covers Rare Read!

$499.00   * sold *   (fixed price)
ended     Thu Jul 2nd  3:48pm EDT
Seller:  clonehero

Almost exact same descriptions, different sellers.

And we can now add this thread to the discoveries:

“TSR internal use only “

The posted pictures were removed, but not before they were captured/saved.

Posting this here to update anyone that comes across this thread:

Here are the cards that the new Acaeum user Themaze "innocently" visited the forums to ask about:

One TSR Dungeons and Dragons Rare Promotional Cards of Book Cover Rare Read!

$300.00  (fixed price)       Buy It Now

Seller:  benzito1

Five TSR Dungeons and Dragons Rare Promotional Cards of Book Covers Rare Read!

$1,500.00  (fixed price)       Buy It Now

Seller:  benzito1

Themaze was convinced that we were correct about these being fraudulent, but amazingly they still show up on eBay after only a few weeks.

Here's the thread that Themaze created in an attempt to legitimize these cards:

“TSR internal use only “

So, no surprise, Themaze is a scammer using the eBay account "benzito1", and likely other accounts.  They still lurk about here occasionally, probably looking for chatter on here relative to these cards.  No contributions to The Acaeum otherwise.  The user should be banned.

Here's yet another listing of these fake cards:

 Dungeons & DragonsTSR Stickers

$1,000.00   * did not sell *
ended     Sun Aug 2nd  4:51pm EDT
Seller:  2232cdrapert

Done.  He last visited on July 1st.  His email address is neil_mazur@yahoo.com, for the record.

I didn't ban the "benzito1" eBay user, since then these auctions won't show on the forums.  Hopefully all readers here are clear that these holograms are fraudulent.

Foul

For posterity, the name according to Icloud photos that were posted is Neil Mazur, too:
