The idea of government agencies shutting off or jamming internet and cell phone services does bother me.

That is exactly what the ATF (illegally) did during the Wako, Texas standoff.

I am far more comfortable with police shooting down felons than I am with the government shutting off communications to limit the people's right to organize, petition and disseminate information.

Some of you may be interested in what happened to the Bruce Allen Morris situation.  He's the guy who "came clean" with his crimes and stated he was going to kill himself.  The locked thread is here:

I sent a Facebook message to one of his "friends" alerting her of the situation.  She stated a couple of days ago:

I just got this message. Thank you so much for telling me. And yes the situation blew up this week.

I wrote:

Glad to be of help. If you don't mind me asking, I hope things turned out well. "Blew up this week" sounds not-so-good. If you don't want to answer, that's fine.

She wrote back today:

I don't mind. He sent everyone in his address book an email stating that it was from his family and that he had committed suicide. It said to contact his mom or ex wife for funeral information. I did and they said that he had attempted but that the cops had gotten there in time to stop him. (this was on monday). He was taken to a hospital where he was put on a 72 hour hold then on thursday he was put into a care facility.

The email though, was sent by him and not his family, which threw everyone who got it, off. And it was made into quite a big deal, someone had told me that his story was on the news. Although I hadn't seen anything. But now he is in a better place, with a lot of help.

I do not plan on any further communication.    Sad.

I'm with the Texan(s) on this one. Though fairly liberal on most fronts, and not a gun owner myself, I support the right to bear arms. Screw the police having guns... If the shopowners had had guns, they'd've been camped on the roofs of their buildings like they did during the L.A. riot. Several loud bangs and a few wounds does wonders to break up a mob.

Years and years ago when I was working as a bouncer one of my cousins gave me his old vietnam era flak jacket which I would wear when working private partys. A friend of mine was helping to move his girlfriend from a bad neighborhood in New York and asked me to come along, which I did wearing the flak jacket. As we were walking through NYC a police officer taps me on the shoulder and says, "Is that a Flak Jacket?". I say yes and he says, "Good idea."

The bad guys won when they took away the right of citizens to bear arms. You might find a benevolent dictator or several or a benevolent government or one that lasts for years, but there will always be that next dictator or government that is less benevolent and less. That is the progression of history. As for today, ask the people in Syria if they would have liked the right to bear arms.

England has disarmed its citizens so that only the government has arms. Better hope that history doesn't follow its regular course because the citizens now have to fear the barbarians in their midst as well as what the cycle of history promises for the future. Power corrupts and having all the guns is quite a statement of power.

No kidding?  Sitting on my ass watching TV all day is bad for me?  You dont say.  Was it so important that someone needed to figure out exactly what amount of time wasted watching TV shortened your life span and by how much?

I've watched a lot of TV over the past 40 years.  Lemme get a calculator real quick.  Alright....40 years, 24 hrs in a day, 22 minutes of life gone per hour watched.....blah, blah, blah.



Per these asshats I should have died three years ago.
